As if he can just "do something" about Peak Oil when the time comes ahahahah thats hilarious. "

I think it's possible to keep a positive attitude with full awareness of how bad things could get in a "Long Emergency". I personally believe and accept a some sort of collapse is imminent with in the next five years.

Yet I refuse to flip over and moan and bitch at the possibility of facing risk. Instead I promised myself and no matter what save someone else. I can't save everyone but I can help one that's enough for me to pull my shit in a sock and stay positive. Shock always follows when the full truth is revealed, but at some point we got to let go of the fear and endless blaming of others.

1.Open your eyes and ears
2.Get with the program
3.Determine your purpose
4.Move out

BTW-NEOPO, you don't need a eco-village. Don't put your fate in the hands of a committee. You are smart enough to get your own spread and work the land yourself.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

You two are quite entertaining (you know who you are).

One question, if you don't believe that Peak Oil is real does that mean that you believe that oil supplies are infinite?

Serious question.

I agree PM :)
We dont need an ecovillage - I think we want one.
Rather have that sort of contact and all it entails as being somewhere working the land alone dont ya think?
Many things to learn, lotta work I would rather share in and sooner or later our children will probably leave us all alone......

Heck we are just tying 2 and 2 together here where Bill is concerned.
This isnt my normal "mode" and I have nothing against being positive - this is my anti "Bill tha pharmazist peak oil is a scam try being positive" mode......

EnergyHog - "YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE" is a trademark of Neopo enterprises - please cease and desist :)

Edit - that video is poor people porn!!! ahahah
It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

I never said peak oil is a scam I said I'm leaning toward Greg Palasts view - But I have the humillity to admit I simply don't know.

I'm like everyone else on this site. All I know is what I read and hear....but I don't "know".

"knowing" would entail having some kind of omnipresent power to see all the worlds energy reserves and forsee future events -

contrary to the voices in your head none of us possess that power - we only have the abillity to read and listen to what other people say and write - which is always skewed in the interests of the author.

feel free to be "anti" anything you want...including some nobody on a meeageboard like me.

The world won't stop and the world doesn't give a shit.....

You all are bringing to light good points about the pros/cons of positive/negative thinking but I feel that, as has been previously stated, the world is not this or that. I "know" this by taking a radical doubt approach concerning life and coming to the conclusion that there are only two guarentees, I will live and I will die. Not to digress into a discussion of what "I am" or what "life" is or what "death" is, I only wish to bring up and reaffim what has been already stated here and in other post, all of the infinite creation that we will never know, is as they say in Taoism, complimentary dualism where everything is one in essence but two in existence, or Buddhism's middle road. Anyways, fundamentalism on either side of the perspective is destructive to the balance. It takes some serious effort to be able to look at death and smile and look at life and cry.
