Plato's Cave allegory

If you are not familiar with the allegory of plato's cave, this should be an interesting read. Soon enough, many will be blinded by reality reagrding PO much like the people in the cave are blinded by the sun.

Isn't Plato's cave just a form of hyperreality? Because those prisoners cannot see reality directly, they believe that the hyperreality is the actual reality.

The analogy of Plato's cave is one of my favorites. Of course, I've found that a great many people like to believe they have seen the light that Plato describes. Plato probably didn't think much about fossil fuels, though.
