Wrencher,

I'm an INTP too, and I'd say I am very good at analysis and systems but I have my moments where I am an effective person too. My partner puts it very well - if my focus is on it I'm good at it, otherwise I can leave the house with my pants on inside out and backwards. It does depend on where you are on the spectrum, but I also think you can work on the other traits and become more proficient at them if you desire.

I'd say it's quite clear you're full of shit.

And, I'd say the results of poll, which only a complete moron would argue do not show a huge statistical anomaly, put a dollop of whip cream on top.

Agreed. I've taken several MTBI tests and come up INTJ everytime.

When I have taken the various tests, I come out borderline INTP/INFP. Slight introvert, distinctly intuitive, moderately perceiving. I'm a borderline Architect-Rational/Healer-Idealist.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('BlueGhost', 'T')he three traits we should test are:

Goal setting.
Time Managment.
People skills

If you cant decide what to do, you'll might aswell not try.
If you never make time to do it you'll never get it done
There are very few tasks which require no human interaction.

Sometimes you can't decide because you haven't tried.
Some things are best left undone.
People can be a royal pain in the ass.

For Fun: What's your personality type? (myers-briggs)

Postby mmasters » Sun 17 Dec 2006, 12:52:05

If you're not sure then here's an online test:
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

Curious at the results. Would bet NT types are the dominant ones here.

Me? I'm INTP all the way!

Also INTP ... seems consistent over many years... Incidentally I think there is already a thread on this...

A few years ago I was an INTP like you guys... now I'm an INFP. But then, I'm reading a lot less Ayn Rand these days...

There are half a dozen threads on this topic. It looks like the main one is a poll, What Myers Briggs Personality Type are you?

I'm still an INTJ.

Your true type never changes though you can evolve your abilities. As an example, an Introvert can learn to become extroverted, but he will always fundamentally be an introvert. Or an intuitive type over time can learn to be a better sensor (more in the moment, facts and details based) but his ability will always be more gifted in the intuitive realm.

We are all fundamentally one type but over our lives we learn to evolve our weaker abilities to balance ourselves out. That is the goal.

My guess is you were always an INFP though you have a developed T ability. I have an INFP friend who is this way.

I'm an ENTJ.

According to Dr. Keirsey's temperment sorter, you are the perfect personality match for me, Coyote.

Fortunately, my wife is also an INFP. :)

Yes, this topic has come up before. But Myers-Briggs test results are excellent Psychological predictors (IMO), so this thread can run its course.

Hi. Expect there are more INTPs here than any other type. Saw that a remark was made earlier that INTPs and INTJs are classic planner/architect types and are not as prone to taking quick action as some others. I took the Meyers Brigg Personality Inventory Test for a class while working for naval air at China Lake in 2003 or 2004 and scored as follows: introverted (slight), intuiting (clear), feeling (moderate), and judging (very clear). Thus am an INFJ. That type is said to be the most contemplative and can't not intuit. A class line for them is " I will try not to be such a perfectionist. Did I spell that right?". INTPs are the most conceptual, and INTJs are the most independent. ENTJ's can't not lead. Military leaders tend to be ESTJs -- most hard charging -- and ENTJs.

Lates.

I took the test a couple of months ago- INTJ. Although we represent about 1% of the overall population we seem to run thick here.
