During my career I have had the responsibility and privilege as an editor of accepting or rejecting somewhere in the neighborhood of a thousand articles in a prestigious astrophysics journal. This does not conclusively prove, but certainly indicates, that I recognize good science when I see it.

I have learned quite a bit about the UFO phenomenon over the years (certainly more than I had bargained for) and have met many of the leading figures, some credible, some deluded. When Prof. Peter Sturrock, a prominent Stanford University plasma physicist, conducted a survey of the membership of the American Astronomical Society in the 1970s, he made an interesting finding: astronomers who spent time reading up on the UFO phenomenon developed more interest in it. If there were nothing to it, you would expect the opposite: lack of credible evidence would cause interest to wane. But the fact of the matter is, there does exist a vast amount of high quality, albeit enigmatic, data. UFO sightings are not limited to farmers in backward rural areas. There are astronomers and pilots and NASA engineers -- and others who have been around the block a few times when it comes to observing natural phenomena -- who have witnessed events for which there is no plausible conventional explanation.

threadbear, look at the video. Most of the so called witnesses have testified what they experienced, and their interpretation of their experiences. That does not mean that this is the truth.

Most of them did not even experience all of that themselves (like the guy down at the missile silo, or the lawyer who was shown photographs, or the lady who spoke to von Braun).

They did not even try to find explanations other than UFO and aliens. I'm sure most of the phenomena can be explained naturally. (I said most, not all!)

I think you are taking the blue pill if you accept this shit without questioning.

Edward Griffin did a video about mind control, explaining that it is easy to control people by criticism, usually by the other people in the group. Hilter used this technique to control people. However, I will watch the video again to listen more closely , and if I feel I'm wrong I will email you with an apology for jumping to conclusions too quickly based on one video.

FYI every year NORAD does indeed track Santa Claus and the local nightly news air it. :-D ( No I don't believe in Sanata Claus but yes NORAD does claim to track Santa)

Someone once told me the government did 9/11 and that we don't live in a democracy, to him I said, "Your Fucking Crazy". Three years later I feel like the idiot.

I'm going off and on with my tinfoil hat, I only did it to see if I could notice changes, so far its early too tell anything. I see it as a means of testing something that was laughed it, just like 9/11 and peak oil. Everyone I've ever talked to doesn't believe in Peak Oil, I'm sure they think I still believe in Santa Claus.

So really is wearing a tinfoil hat crazy? No.

I have no idea how far the rabbit hole goes and either do you, don't be so quick to judge.

I see the main mental road block issue and I want to address it now please.

Alien technology that could/would aleviate the ramifications of peak oil.

I for one am not looking at ufo's/aliens as our peak oil saviors.
If PO is a scam then its a very elaborate scam that TPTB can pull off regardless so I fully expect it to occur.
If there is some technology that could solve our oil/energy problems then I seriously doubt TPTB would bring it out until every control they ever wanted was in place, every last human that could be convinced to die for resources was dead etc etc....so it will be just like Peak oil but with alien technology for the rich and the military maybe ;-)

It changes my overall outlook very little really.

Maybe that is why some peakers need to look away when they start talking energy and why I can stare at it unflinching.

The whole thing seems to really bother lighthouse 8)

The military declassifies technology, they are the ones who will let you know what they can do. You will never know what they can really do. It is a matter of "National Security". There is a firm belief in the upper parts of government that if someone talks it might cost lives or even the country, they don't talk. I'm also sure that there is a system in place that if anyone does try to talk they will be killed. Crazy? Imagine a person with a very high security level tries to tell the american public something that is very damaging to the United States. Even better goes totally nuts and decides to tell the nation about our nuclear launch codes in detail, how long do you think he is going to live for putting "National Security" at risk.

To add to the level of complete crazy unknowns of the world, I do know that the CIA has agents inside all major media stations. I believe they do this because it is some what useful to know what is going on in all major prints, and if there is something that would put "National Security" at risk. ( I don't care if you think I'm crazy)

Only a fool would trust a proven lair. ( the military)

I do know that if were the shareholders of those central banks and if I controlled most governments around the world, I wouldn't let the people have access to technology that would allow them to overthrow me. Only an idiot would do such a thing.

No really. This video of the press conference was done in an absolute manipulative, biased way. I just was a bit bothered that someone could take it as a life changing information source without questioning it.

Are there aliens out there? I would say the probability of intelligent life somewhere else is quite high. Remember the equation Frank Drake came up with?

In other words you are saying that aliens just flying over the USA sometimes they even crash, but only in the USA so the US government can take advantage of the anti gravity drive.

Do you honestly think that a country like Iran or North Korea would not take advantage of alien technology?

Oh, I forgot they just crash over the US so the US scientist and engineers can reverse engineer their technology. They tend not to crash over Iran or North Korea.

The vast distances between the stars preclude travel between them, unless the fabric of space itself can somehow be "folded" or something.

That's doubtful, so I'll cite Carl Sagan's take on it: There are certainly many advanced civilizations in our galaxy, but it is almost equally as certain that no intelligent life form ever finds another intelligent life form, ever, because of the distances that separate them.

There must be more to your response than what can be seen here. The original post is a simple statement of fact. Try as I might, I can't find any opinion there one way or the other.

I was thankful for the explanantion since I was left wondering "what the hell is this all about?" after the first post.

The United States of America is owned by the same people who own the UK. (Why we are so friendly) I don't know how much power the owners have, who they actually control, or how many of them run around.

I do know that after reading a few books about North Korea, that it is a country that is controlled by Kim Jong Ill as a one man dictator. The funny part is Kim Jong Il is really not the "leader" his dead father is still considered the "leader". Kim Jong Ill is locked by his crazy father's ideas and most of the crew that was behind Kim Il Sung (Kim Jong Il's father) is still there. The North Korean's calendar is somewhere in the year 89ish (Can't recall the number) because it is based on Kim Il Sung's birthday, if I remember correctly. The whole country is similar to 1984. If you havn't read 1984, go read it, now. The North Koreans can barely put a missile in the air and it took them a god awful long time ass time to make a few nukes. My guess is that they are not smart enough to really figure anything out regarding the construction of anything too complex. Remember, what the United States did back in the 40's is now what the North Koreans do at present time.

Another funny thing about North Korea is that the government once allowed cells phones, however they realized they couldn't monitor everyone's phone calls, so they took the cell phones away. The North Koreans don't have our super computers. :-D

Now as for Iran....These people are all religious fundamentalists, I doubt science is their strong point. They are trying to make a nuke, once again the United States did this many decades ago, Iranians are far behind the techno curve.

The countries you name do not have the funding, technology or for the most part even the idea that aliens might exist.

I believe that the people who truely own this world have access to far far greater technology then what we see, alien or not. I don't know, I don't have all the answers.

I see a video of former military officers saying they have seen UFOs, then another guy claiming there are more than 400 other people just like them in the military. I have to wonder maybe he is telling the true. Which means my belief in what I already knew is being challenged.

On top of this I see videos and read books that outlined through out history scientific advancement has been stalled because the rulers of those nations claimed the ideas were quacky. I also know that the "money changers" were around since the Romans. I really don't know how far this goes. I think it is possible that in fact these arn't aliens but rather humans who have had a monopoly on information for so long that they are so far advanced that maybe their technology looks alien. That would explain why as the man in the movie "Disclosure Project", claimed that some of the aliens look like us.

I'm not even sure if the year is 2006, what if the real year is more like 8394? Who the hell knows? I know that many countries around the world have very different calendars, no one really knows what year it is, it is whatever the establishment says, end of story. I really really miss the days when I could trust the foundations of society. I miss the days when I didn't give a second thought about oil production or how our cities are structured or who prints the money or how my food is made.

This all started because I wanted to know how the world works so I could figure out where all the money was located. Then make a very good living. I also did it because I wanted to live longer than most people. I wanted the good life. It is easy to make all the right choices in life if you know what all the right choices are, takes all the guess work out.

I used to be a republican that trusted Bush , then democrat, then hard-core liberal that hated Bush, now I think the United States is not a democracy and how it operates is shocking (Bush is just a puppet or spokesperson; has no real power). I support no parties or any of their stupid ideas, they all support the federal reserve system. This is why I post here, there seems to be a few others that feel the same way.

This may seem strange but I wanted to be a cop a few years back because I like helping people and enforcing laws.Yes, I got college credits and close to degree. You can imagine my surprise when I found out that our governmnet was a criminal institution.
:shock: It took a few years of reading hundreds of books, but I got there.

Btw the tinfoil hat thing was more an experiment, not a fact that radiowaves or whatever come through the sky. A little creative testing wouldnt hurt :P

That video didnt change my life if you read it correctly , it simply challenged what I already knew.

See here is your weak point. You did not see a video of former military officers saying they have seen UFO's, you saw a video in which most of the former military officers were saying they have heard about phenomena they are pretty sure were caused by UFO's (like the guard of the missile silo calling the guy on the switch and telling him about the UFO's). They did not even consider any other explanation. And that is very suspicious. The same is true for the one or two "first hand testimonies" ...

An interesting trend I've noticed is that the people who have done little to no research on the subject of UFOs and aliens have a strong tendency to think that they don't exist.

I have been researching the subject of UFOs and aliens visiting Earth for several years, and I think more than one alien civilization has visited Earth within the past 100 years. I have found a few distinct differences in several UFO designs and descriptions of the aliens encountered.

I challenge the laws of thermodynamics with the Heisenburg Uncertainty Principle. If we can't be certain of the movement and location of particles, we can't be certain that the laws of thermodynamics are even true.

That only reflects ignorance on the nature of the laws of thermodynamics. They are statistical laws. They tell you how millions of particles will behave together. What you just said is like saying that, just because you can never know whether flipping a coin will result in heads or tails, you can't say anything about the result of flipping thousands of coins.

You still can't predict the outcome of thousands of flips. There's nothing stopping each coin landing on the same side. 50% is the probability, but the possibilities can range anywhere from 0 to 100 percent.

The idea that we are uncertain about the position and movement of particles means that we can't be sure that the laws of thermodynamics are immutable in all conditions and cases. I'm not saying the laws of thermodynamics are wrong. I'm just saying they may not always be 100% accurate. If we can overcome the heisenburg uncertainty principle with incredibly advanced measuring devices, then who knows?

One of the clearest videos showing UFOs which seem.. "intelligent" came from NASA. If these videos haven't been altered then surely.. it is interesting to say the least. Even with all the evidence for aliens (and there is a lot...) I'm still not convinced in the same fashion that say I am about peakoil. Mainly because we have no idea about what they want.. what they can do.. and how. We're also relying on eyewitnesses or grainy video... or unexplained phenomenon etc.

Some of those witnesses were clearly wack-faced.

But some of them seemed like grizzly old ex-military types with some pretty credible claims.

I dunno... but I want my own memory messer upper thingy.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.
