For all of you fun loving sorts that like to confuse christians with your arguments, I have a great one for you:

.... Then it happened that the supply of wine gave out, and Jesus' mother told him, "They have no more wine."

Paraphrased:

The party was on.
The party ran out of wine.
Jesus not only brought more, but it was the good stuff.

You will likely get nothing but a puzzled response, except for the Baptist who may stammer on about how it was grape juice or some other rot.

Then again, it may open some eyes.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Nowhere in the Bible does God condemn the drinking of alcohol in moderation. In Psalms there is a script that says, " wine makes the heart of mortal man rejoice "

I am not confused at all about the miracle.

It wasn't just a party it was a wedding party which is very significant from a symbolism point of view. They accused Christ of being a drunk after all he was a minster to the prostitutes and the tax collectors.

The Bible does not talk against drinking wine it speaks against being a drunk all though Noah was a famous drunk.

Was he? I don't recall that. Lot was the one that was loved up by his daughters after passing out.

Genesis 9:20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: 21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. 23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
24 ¶ And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

Some how this part of the story has been left out of all those children's books about Noah and the Ark.

This stuff happened before God gave mankind laws. His laws were given to the nation of Israel, and many of those laws protected Israel from mankinds ignorance of that time, mainly regarding cleansiness.

Really, Prohibition is confusing?

I don't know Armageddon, seems to me that even King David had is share of problems too even with all of Gods laws. The guy had all the women he could want but he still wasn't satisfied. He had to get ol Bathsheba for himself. And even went so far as to kill her husband to get her.

The fact is that the light has come into the world but most people prefer the darkness. It has always been thus, there is nothing new under the sun.

It was Jesus message of love and compassion that was so important and miraculous in itself. Turning water into wine? Don't believe it. Don't think his mission was to overturn the laws of physics.

Not only that, there are those who speculate that it was Jesus' own wedding (to Mary Magdalene, of course).

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Eli', 'R')eally, Prohibition is confusing?

I don't know Armageddon, seems to me that even King David had is share of problems too even with all of Gods laws. The guy had all the women he could want but he still wasn't satisfied. He had to get ol Bathsheba for himself. And even went so far as to kill her husband to get her.

King David had a very good heart and loved God very much. He did make a very bad mistake when he had an adulterous affair with bathsheba, and then sent her husband to war to get killed. David was very remorseful and God knew that by reading his heart. David was forgiven , but did suffer when he and Bethsheda's child was killed. Humans do make very bad mistakes, but God forgives when we ... 1) pray for forgiveness 2) do not keep making the same mistakes 3) forgive others who sin against us. On the basis of the sacrafice of Jesus, God does forgive.

That doesn't fit well with his reported statement "it is not yet my time"

I think he meant it was not yet his time to perform miracles rather than not yet his time to take a wife.

People speculate all kinds of crazy stuff about Jesus, it all stems form the fact that they do not believe that he was the Son of God.

It would be out of Jesus' nature to preform such a selfish miracle for himself. We are talking about the guy who didn't even save himself from the pain of crucifixion after all.

Agreed, Armageddon God does forgive.
