So long dissidents and thanks for the fish

Link says it all. Don't talk bad about the US if you want to travel abroad and return to the US... or maybe even leave the US to begin with.

Solution: Don't travel.

I think they're overreacting a bit though. The piece reads more like a defense lawyer's prose in support of his particular client by trying to generalize the situation to many. If it can happen to my guy, it can happen to you sort of thing.

I note with some interest that the article gives virtually no information concerning the name, family heritage, religion, etc of the particular individual concerned. No way to really investigate the claim further.
Yes, we are. As we are.

This is a big deal. Another tightening of the noose.

Automated Targeting System

Interesting name as well.

Patriot act and MCA took out the Bill of Rights. Now our freedom to travel is hobbled. Nice folks, these neocons.

Shall we call it "The Dixie Chick" Homeland security Act of 2006?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AgentR', 'S')olution: Don't travel.

Great solution!

Fortunately most Americans don't so it will affect few.

I suggest you reinforce the idea that the US of A is the most fantastic place on Earth, and no other country will come near and travel will only lead to disappointment that will haunt you for the rest of your natural life.

You could become a nation of Trumans.

Now can you please make that apply to your military?

Look dude, most of the Americans here don't like this shit anymore than you do. Contribute something meaningful instead of just thumbing your nose. Maybe you are just pissed off there is not Asia/Pacific forum... I don't know.

No, you said if you don't like it change it... a contribution however quaint the vote might be at this point.

Really that video suggests something beyond voting though.

I think you'll be required to have a passport to go to Canada as of January 2007 also. That should put a chill on tourism. The doors are being locked. Why?

Give up flying; you’re not going to be doing much of it anymore anyway. This next year I plan on taking AMTRAK from the Fullerton, California, 8 miles from where I live, to Union Station in Chicago, near where my family lives. It will take approximately 42 hours from what the AMTRAK website says (although unlike Mussolini, I won’t be keeping track of time!) , and I’ll get to see this great country of mine, both ways! I also will not not have to take my shoes off except to relax!

This is of course not limited to airtravel alone.
This affects any way of crossing the border to another country or into international waters.
So forget about impuls decisions to drive from San Diego to Tijuana or train trips to Canada as well.
It apparently even applies to pro fisherman goin out to sea.

If the republicans (read neo-cons) claim victory at the elections, we can kiss good bye to peak democracy as it disappears in the rearview mirror.
If democrats win, we can at least pray there isn't a big illuminati conspiracy controlling them leading to the same agenda.
Haven't liked the talk about 'no impeachment of Bush' lately.

I think, there are 2 main reasons for that.

1. US Government cares about American citizens. It will not allow them to travel outside of US, as wherever they go, they becoming to be a shotting target.
Perhaps Britain is still relatively safe for them, but overwhelming majority of countries are not.

2. Should thouse unlucky souls take a risk (of being kidnapped, shot, beheaded...) and travel outside of US, they are spending a lot of money (and contributing to enemy economy instead of american one - yes! any nation other than Israel or United States is considered enemy or enemy competitor according to american Government, albeit this is not publicly announced yet).

I would begin to wonder when this will influence "internal" travel inside the US.
Kind of like when one needed an "internal" passport to travel in the old Soviet days, from one city to another. When that happens here, we're REALLY screwed.
Like when you can't visit your family that may live in another State.
Or travel freely on business, or for vacation.

I remember what it was like for my family members living in Poland during the old days. It is beginning to look like the same thing is happening here. I never thought that I would live to see this, and that it would..and could..happen so fast, and without public knowledge OR outcry.

This site is full of folks claiming how great and important their right to bear arms is and how it's there to protect the constitution etc, and what has happened? You've all just rolled over like good [s]Germans [/s]Americans.

It's your problem, try owning it.

I'm being compared to a neocon? Something must have gone wrong with the babel fish.

Travel broadens the mind, obviously that's why it's so dangerous.
