Happy Birthday Charlton Heston, Star of Many Disaster Films

Unread postby Jogger » Wed 04 Oct 2006, 02:01:35

Charlton Heston is one of the best American actors ever...

He starred in some of the best disaster films ever made. Although these films are a bit dated, they are still entertaining...

Planet of the Apes (1968)
The Omega Man (1971)
Soylent Green (1973)

Hopefully George Bush has seen these films, especially Soylent Green, which is about an overpopulated Earth in the year 2022 with higher temperatures, limited natural resources, and millions of people surviving on water rations and a nutritious cracker made by the Soylent Corporation. Heston finds out what the cracker is made of.

Happy Birthday Chuck! And many more!

Sincerely,

Your friends at Peakoil.com

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'I') never liked the guy. Too macho. Too full of himself. He played one role--Charlton Heston and did okay with that. Two good movie I can remember: Soylent Green and Touch of Evil. Played Charlton Heston in both. I hated his politics. friend of ronnie reagan. say no more.

don't forget Ben Hur.

But otherwise I totally agree with you assessment ...

A star of disaster films and a survivor in them and a survivalist in real life:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'â')€œSo that this nation may long endure, I urge you to follow in the hallowed footsteps of the great disobedience of history that freed exiles, founded religions, defeated tyrants, and yes, in the hands of an aroused rabble in arms and a few great men,â€
