$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('threadbear', 'I')nternationally, the Americans who opposed the war, work to better the world --and better yet, understand it, are admired. The rest are viewed with complete withering contempt. There is nothing quite so curious and appalling as a junk food addled, fat and stupid person, telling you how to run your country or your life.

Go to any airport in Europe and play "spot the American". They don't walk, they shuffle. Many of them are mouth breathers and many more are morbidly obese and nearly all of them are wearing jogging suits and sneakers, which in Europe, resemble pajamas. The most notable thing though, is the expression on their faces--a mixture of bovine complacency and mild confusion.

This is the international face the ignorant type of American presents to the world. When foreigners watch your abyssmal television shows, think of how the international community's respect level plummets.

So hear this, you ignoramuses want some respect? Close your mouth, lose some weight, quit shuffling, and don't wear pajamas in public.

Well thread looks like Canada is not immune to obesity.

Yes, tell us. Where else in Peru did you go?

About obesity, I blame it on junk food. People in Lebaon eat more than Americans, but the type of food is different.

I bet you actually walk too. Americans, in an apparent act of solidarity with paraplegics everywhere, have collectively given up walking and any other method of locomotion not powered by fossil fuels.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('rogerhb', 'W')e love America. We despise and detest the current inhabitants, their leaders, their behaviour, their attitude, their arrogance and their ignorance.

But most of all we hate the fact that even as we hate them more and more they don't get the message through their thick skulls that we hate you.

We don't care. We don't have to. We've got the military strength, the nukes, and the monetary hegemony.

You've got more sheep than you do people. Now go out and tag the ones that kick so that American tourists can enjoy safe sex while on vacation.

Americans, abroad? You either get the rich, the extrovert or the military.

Most Americans don't know what abroad means, they think going to a different state is going abroad....

Or "is that what they do on the Amazing Race?"

Only 20% of Americans even have passports. Ironic, given that the US has been the engine of "globalisation".

It's called "Tabboule". The Lebanese food I tried in the US was not that good, but I've never been to San Diego. Perhaps they make it better there. I know there are quite a bit of lebanese in Southern California. I'm just not sure about SD.

I had it in Houston, Texas. A Syrian that I worked with told me what to order.

Ahhh Syrians. Always benefitting from Lebanese talent :).

One of my best friends lives in Houston (or is it Austin?). I'll ask her about the Lebanese food there.

You should come over here with your wife (if you're still married) and your kids and try the real Lebanese food. My mom can make the best tabbouli for you guys :).

You're very gracious. Thank you. I think I'll look up the recipe on the internet and make some, that was so delicious. The trouble might be getting whole wheat but I could probably find some.

I asked my mom. First soak a handful of ground wheat ("bourghol": you can find it in any Lebanese/Arab store) inside a bowl. Then throw the water away and add all these ingredients cut in very small squares: 4-5 tomatoes, 2-3 packs of persil (the leaves only!), 1 small onion, a handful of mint leaves, 2 lemons, and about 1/2 cup of olive oil. Put all the ingredients together and just mix them well. The quantities depend on how much you want to make so you'll have to adapt them accordingly, but these should be good for a big bowl.

Sahtain! (Bon Apetit).
