Demographic doomerosity

Unread postby Gridlock » Sat 05 Aug 2006, 19:34:05

An unscientific poll admittedly, to attempt to see if there are any demographic trends to doomer levels (perhaps let's define high as die-off/mad max and low as economic shit-storm, but no collapse of civilisation), wanted to add a medium level of doomerosity & other geographic location, but 'too many poll options' & copy&paste was getting tiring...

Turtle - Go on, I need a good response rate. Otherwise I might be in danger of mis-interpreting the sentiment of posters here. PS I'm not Diebold, I can't vote for you :-)

How would the results of this survey show a "trend"? A trend occurs over some period of time; this survey provides only a snapshot in time. You'd need at least two surveys, separated by a meaningful period of time, to suggest a trend.

And the survey title is ambiguous.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') trend occurs over some period of time

Trend as in meaning inclination, movement, development etc.
Happy to repeat the survey again.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')nd the survey title is ambiguous.

Fair enough, I should have put some more time into that.

Just interested in the results...

Another Aussie here who can't vote.

There's quite a few of us around, actually, as well as a few NZ'ers, which is surprising considering how much smaller our population is...

Apologies that I was unable to add in options to cover other regions. But you're going to kick our ass on Nov 5th at Twickenham, so you can create a poll on the level of superiority of Kiwi rugby to ours (you won't need too many options!) EDIT: Sorry, the aussies will kick our ass too around the same time.

As I understand it, the politicians down there have been more open about oil depletion, could this be a factor in the high presence here?
