Very lightweight and yes it is permaculture, the soil is immaculate, top soil is at 2 feet, it has been an organic plot since the 1800's, though probably used for grazing animals back then. However, keep in mind, I'm 6'2 and built like a rock, never stopped playing basketball, so I don't think your average skinny minny would do so well. Why would I grow corn for ethanol? That is like 2 steps forward, three steps back. Plus, the coons annihilate corn around here, only the pesticide crowd grows it for cow feed. I only grow food for the family and the local store down the road. Tomatoes are my specialty, I maintain close to 50 heirlooms, was 100 when I was young and full of life.

I actually get excited when I see stands pop up, in fact last year I came across a little lad who was selling cherry tomatoes and he was all excited to explain to me how they were organic and what he used to grow them. So I bought them all! I think I got 5 lbs of seeds out of it. I fear most of the pastures will be surburbia before they are beautiful fields of produce. Sad, but true. BTW, get the fork with the longer tongs if your soil is soft, you'll thank me. The back doesn't get effected, but I will say the knees will get a little sore, but that is probably after the 4th acre is done.
