')OK...lets see. I'm looking for someone who can fix a diesel engine, butcher a deer and tan the hide, and build a log cabin with a few simple hand tools and a stand of trees. Must be able to survive in Montana winter with no heat other than whatever wood you can split and stack, plus body heat from eachother and a few dogs. Must be able to live off whatever water you can haul yourself, and must have your own chainsaw, food stash, and at least 3 guns. Blacksmithing and animal husbandry skills are a plus.

It's a great puzzlement to me where all the back-to-the-land hippy chicks went . I think they all moved to Seattle and became real estate agents or some such thing--I actually met one who lived around here in a tipi back in the 70s--she's 52 now, obese, and works for a publisher in Portland (they're publishing a "Hooters Cookbook" this fall--wow). She also has a restored Dodge Challenger with a 440/4 speed---not exactly what I'm in the market for. Gag!! Growing old sucks!! I've had women tell me they'd rather die than live without all kinds of junk food and worthless, overpriced crap. The other choices around here are bar slut or clueless pentecostal holy roller types, or alcoholic manic-depressives living on SSI, or fat redneck types who voted for Bu$h, drive Escalades, and like bowling, or Indian biker chicks from the res.... You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find someone who likes to garden and sit by the creek and let the rest of the world go by...

As a 40 year old (but still attractive, trim and young looking single I find it hard to even continue friendships with many head-in-the sand aquantances much less find a soul mate in the deluded crowds!

Being single now I comfort myself with the fact I have more time for preps and once Peak becomes 'common knowledge' I figure I'll be one of the prepaired happy people (a relative term) and dateing should be easier.
