Unlike that peak oil rock star Savinar, I didn't punk out on the legal profession as soon as things looked dire, so I think I have a little more cash to stockpile gold even though he and others may run circles around me in terms of survival prep. Just something to consider when figuring out which PO stud you want to roll with.

There often is a guide in the front of your phone book that lists the local calling areas (although I have to hold on to an older copy of my phone book as the new ones have left it out). Number portability coming in doesn't help accuracy either (although not a problem here yet - maybe in the city where it doesn't matter?).

Here's a link to a site I use all the time too (although as of this particular moment the PHP isn't working right). Also useful for figuring out where a particular phone number is too - useful for time zones.
