"Why bother? Nothing's Wrong"

In case you haven't been getting enough doomerish information, here's a bit more, including some stuff we don't think about much:

In fact, there are a number of serious threats to the environment, several of which have a very real potential to be a significant threat to the human race.

We're accelerating towards a cliff as we drink cyanide. The entire human race is collectively engaged in some sort of unconscious mass suicide pact or something.

[smilie=BangHead.gif] We just can't win can we...

D'oh. No wonder most people tend not to think about this. Not thinking doesnt hurt the head, the pschy or the heart. For most folks we'll do what we've always done until we cant anymore. Then we wont.

It really is hard-wired into our nature. We'd rather die than change our ways, sad but true.

One thing that I've been thinking about recently (speaking of things that aren't commonly mentioned) is that there are any number of highly toxic, noxious chemicals stored in various facilities all over the world that require continuous inputs of energy to keep the surrounding area safe. Remember Bhopal? There are plenty of instances of chemicals that could do that much damage or more that must be kept above or below a certain temperature, or that must be actively contained somehow.

Once the energy to contain those chemicals is no longer available, what happens in areas that might be downwind of such facilities?

Collective human suicide is a great solution for earth and most of life as we know it.

Root issue seems to be our self pity, importance together with internal dialogue that keeps you do the same thing till you die, unless you win by shutting up for a while and learn to be sober, level headed, geared to struggle and survive.

I have two minds, weak retarded talk that brings me fear, indulgence and misery. Opposed to my nature that never learned to spread it's wings, detached and curious.
From 10000 BC we have settled for something less, less brains and no connection with magic, sedated mankind, helpless food for personal egomania, out of the garden.
Now time to get back to our true nature, making a run for it.

This world is very strange, not at all fixed, a body of feelings floating around. My day to day mind gives the description of the world you and I can talk about, it helps me to stay alive but it imprisons me and reduces my scope of what really is, first plain energy.

Therefore I am two beings aware simultaneous, world of reason and will.

Now we can see the battle of our internal struggle unfold, our two minds. We are likely to die with the total being of ourselves
, big bummer.

I'd have to think many of our chemicals will degrade or change over time to simpler or more inert substances. Most stuff we make is organic at is roots when you think about it. Doesn't mean the short term wont suck though.

Long term I'd worry more about radiation. A total social collapse will leave future generations of just about any lifeform susceptible to improperly stored radiation. This I think may be our longest lasting legacy if everything else fails.
