$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mekrob', ' ')Another one of my friends was right across the street and whenever he came over, he would drive the 20 ft to the other side of the street.
Maybe he was worried about getting hit by a car crossing the street.
At my previous residence in suburbia, I once had the pleasure of viewing my neighbor immeidately on our right side start up his heavy-duty truck (American-made, of course) and drive to the driveway of our neighbor immediately on our left, get out and talk for fifteen minutes (with the engine idling), then get back into the truck and drive back to his own driveway.
Five minutes later the other neighbor drove his four-wheeler across our lawn to the other guy's house.
Every time I hear some suburbanite moaning "I have no choice, I
have to drive a car," I think of this little episode. I only wish this actually was the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the human animal. Jevon's paradox indeed.
