I've seen enough scientific evidence to convince me the US public (then the rest of the world) was led down the garden path on 9/11. So a Cabal exists but an Illuminati would have covered their tracks with more care.

Why do people seem to assume the current incumbent will step down when his term is over? Your Constitution grows more dog-eared by the day, it may well be a simple matter to suspend it altogether.

One more `New Pearl Harbour' is all it will take and this would be easy enough to achieve. It may be difficult for foreign `terrorists' to smuggle nasty weapons into the US but it would be a trifling matter for a homegrown Cabal to bring something in. It is within the realm of possibility that members of this Cabal have sourced and strategically placed such a weapon, to be used at a time deemed appropriate. And that time could be drawing close, judging by the popularity polls. There are at least 3000 reasons why the Cabal might consider adding 30,000 or 300,000 to that total to avoid losing power.

Peak Oil, drought (famine), wildfires (deforestation, famine), upcoming hurricane season, declining aquifiers, bubbles threatening to burst all over the place and just when you thought you could at least turn to cannibalism to survive you discover dinner has a case of the mumps.

It is entirely possible a farsighted Cabal didn't want to help out in New Orleans because allowing Nature to thin the herd might make things easier further down the line.

Here's something to read on the subject. Peak Oil is the perfect impetus for a false "saviour" figure to rise out of the chaos and breakdown. Its definitely possible, and worth a thought.
