The blackouts in Texas have made national news. CNN is covering the story.

They say the blackouts are intentional, but automatic, to balance the grid and keep it stable.

Apparently a number of plants were taken down for maintenance this month, they got a surprise heat wave today, and everyone flipped the AC on at the same time.

Record high temperatures in April - nope, can't possibly have anything to do with global warming. But power plants didn't seem to function so well
in the pleasant April weather:

A modern society based on ripping eachother appart, based on rumours and crap.

So what if there is an outage?
It's not like the end of the world.
Offcourse. We have to put it on the news, make it a major event and boost commodity prices as a result.
We must also invade some country for the same reason, and God knows what else.

I experience a lot of power outages in my lifetime. At least 100, and up to 6-8 hours. There was no big deal. You could always find something better to do while waiting for the power to come back.
Then everything resumed as normal, and there was no big deal about it.
