Interesting ohanian but why do you think that formula is accurate?
Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive...

I don't think that is an accurate formula. Plugging in 2002 for example gives you a negative number. I think it is best to look at the 300 day moving average. When 300 day moving averages are going up they serve as a market floor. In January the 300 day was at $57 and now it is at $60. This explains why oil has not dropped below sixty durning the last pull back but was able to drop below $58 during the January pullback. For the last two years the 300 day has been increasing at about $1 a month. That trend will continue unless something fundimental changes.

Great photo with the storm clouds in the background, BTW. Uber Apropos...

Think someday we'll be looking @ a map seeing who HAS gasoline to sell. We all will be like "Wow...they have gasoline...remember when we had gasoline...neato"... :)

I liked this gas price map...

http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx

Looks like Casper, Wyoming is the place to be. $2.15 there.

$3.57 in Kirkwood, Kalifornia.
Conform . Consume . Obey .

Very cool! Seems accurate from my limited experience. I couldn't understand why the prices I see around me are not as bad as in the news. Then I look on this map - sure enough, I'm in a green county. Over the weekend I went over into the next county and was a bit shocked to see prices considerably higher. Sure enough, that's a yellow county! I sure don't understand how prices can vary so much across short distance. I suppose it has to do with rapid change, i.e. disequilibrium.

I am so sick of this.
Just saw a TV-report on German TV about the rise in gas prices, the usual stupid suckers ranting about the price gouging, and a "silver lining" story about Shells new super fuel, which is supposed to give better mileage.

So they want to tell me that they sell "more energy" for the same price? Some people just need to be slapped and slapped for good they will be.
