Any fellow collector out there?

I collect ancient coins. One of the saddest things about PO for me is .. Where will I buy my coins? Should I sell my treasures while they are expensive or not? What will you do with your collections? And when?
I am about to start collecting daggers and bayonets under influences of PO..

I am starting to sell off my book collection. Might as well while prices are high.

First on the block:

Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank.
First ed. 1959.

Ah, well. Was nice while it lasted.

I could tell you stories that would leave you flabbergasted about ancient relics and coins.
In my neighborhood there have been found close to 20,000 coins.
Not all together.Thats the total figure.
One of King Phillips crowns was found here and is in the museum now.
A friend of mine found an ancient warriors headpiece.
My personal treasure is a piece of marble approx 90cm x60cm high with an ancient priest making an offering.
Apparently its part of an ancient temple.
Probably going to build it into the fireplace somehow.
Shit, everytime we dig a hole we search through the dirt.lol
Everyone has metal detectors.

yeah. sold a lot of my coins in college to a collector in Palo Alto.

you mean so you'll have knives to fight off the starving hordes, or to sell to other people to fight off the starving hordes ?

just curious, not saying it's a bad idea.

i would say, sell some of the collection if it will help you survive, then keep shopping for more stuff ! i don't think people will stop selling their beautiful antiques when PO economic effects affect us. more, the opposite.

though, in the rush, to move, some valuable stuff will get tossed in the trash.
