That is so true. The generation now just being born may be the first generation that never gets to drive. The under 4 set won't get their licences until around 2020 or just before and by then the car will be making rapid exit from post-instrial life. By the time they are middle aged adults the car will be just a distant childhood memory.

Nope. They're all too real. And battery-powered, too, so there's no physical exertion whatsoever.

I remember these from when I was a kid... I never knew anyone who actually owned one because they were over a hundred bucks (1986 dollars), and because parents were afraid you'd run over the cat. Neither appears to be a factor nowadays.
