Very good movie. The coincidences between the Fictional Hurricane Julia and Hurricane Katrina were uncanny. But Oil Storm was not just about the Hurricane. There was a tanker accident in Galveston TX and massive terrorist attack in SA. There was also some type of power play with China that was not fully explained. In the movie gas reached $7 a gallon which I don't think is unrealistic for the near future. There was also a farmers strike because of the gas prices and lack of fertilizer. I think that too could happen if we don't start shifting a larger portion of our economy back into agriculture.
The only part of the movie I did not care for was where Russia saved America in the end. You just can't make a movie in America without a cotton candy happy ending. When the real crisis does come Russian oil will not be able to stop it. I think the writers may have known the ending was bogus because they did talk about a new normal at the very end with gas still above $4.
