FOX, CNN, BBC OR PRISON PLANET?

Unread postby PrairieMule » Thu 26 Jan 2006, 13:18:03

All these folks hanging around and no ones talking. Here is a icebreaker.

I try to be well rounded on information gathering. I use to be a old Fox hound but now becoming a BBC junkie.

The President made a speech a hour ago on the Palestinain Elections and charges of spying on Americans and here is how it's being headlined.

FOX-It's legal
CNN-No Doubt It's Legal
BBC(Americas section)-nothing yet
NEWSMAX-Nothing yet
PRISONPLANET.COM-Nothing on this mornings speech yet but they have updates on the Hamas upset victory and a dozen antibush/gov articles.
MSNBC-Olive branch?-possible talks w/Hamas and Spying defended

It's like when a crime is commited and there are 5 witnesses you get 5 different perspectives. That being said, where do you go to get your perspective?
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

To paraphrase the Bolivian banditos in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (or was it Treasure of the Sierra Madre?), "perspectives? we doan need no steenking perspectives!" Seriously, I remember a line from a John Prine song about old people, "and all the news just repeats itself".

Here's my recipe for dealing with news sources:
1.Boil for 1 hour to kill off primary viruses
2. Cool slowly to aid digestion.
3.Freeze in container shaped to personal biases
4.Thaw slowly to allow evaporation of noxious gases
5.Place in cyclotron to separate components according to the
specific gravity of reality,
6.Place results in nosecone of space vehicle and launch.
Components will reconstitute as an unfamiliar mass
of much larger dimension.
7.Place results in dark room for maturing.
8.Speak openly about item when Time.US News,and
People run cover stories concurrently.

That's from The Treasure of Sierra Madre, my friend, one of the finest films ever made, along with On the Waterfront.
What will arrive first? Peak Oil or the Second Coming? My money is now on the latter.

the NW and BC population will increase form 15 million to 65 million over the next couple decades or so so therefore it WILL BE A PRISON PLANET. No choice. good luck. If u got a seed out there better get them conditioned for prison life.

it seriously is a symtom of a greater disease. After reading the morning paper and reading about these projected human biomass increases, that is then utopian future: prison planet. weird sick wacked out humanoids have taken over the planet. Infatuated with narcisism and death. lol. when the 30 year olds today die off i hate to see what will be moving in when i am on my death bed. but the little shits today sit in front of the idiot box and game cube anyway so they are already prisoners and slaves. Oh wait they have to do there little soccer BS, i forgot. enslaved to a rectangle. this modern human race is wierd. eerie stuff. ahh bath and orgy out in your perfumes and oil based products amidst a burned out monoculture.

So just plug into the idiot box and everything will be fine. cnn, fox,it dont matter its all the same.

This looks to be our grab-bag thread today. Right, mule? So I'm browsing The Oil Drum and catch this cool quote about Heinberg's "Last Man Standing":
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he last "man" standing will only be standing because he (she?)is pinned to the side of a Hummer by a large shard of flying shrapnel, or some such thing.
. LOL. That Heinberg phrase was one of the early things that stuck in my mind when I first heard about PO, hence my own user name.

I get all the news I need observing the human biomass increases and migrations form hell holes. I understand what the future holds. Thats all i need to know. the rest is just entertainment and something to keep our minds off what really is going on. There wont ever be peace until humans die back to about 1 million or so.

Prairie Mule, BBC was muzzled by the Blair govt over the dodgey dossier affair. Remember Andrew Gilligan? I thought not. Anything that happens more than a month ago, that is TRULY important is lost in the mists of time in the mainstream (and believe me BBC is one of the worst now) In the US complete utter nonsense gets years of airplay and mind share. Remember Tonya Harding-- how about the Run-Away Bride? Excellent. Me too.

I find the Asia Times On-line is pretty reliable. The Guardian would be better, but they have the Official Secrets Act in Britain, which allows their govt to practice direct censorship using sticks rather than the carrots the media recieves in the US.

Canadian print press--lapdogs, cowards, sycophants. For television news we have the CBC, who are committed to the highest journalistic standards, knowing they can be dismissed at any time by being just too darn far out and conspiratorial which is code for --Moderation in all things.

So they never say anything too outlandish. Their careers in journalism are secondary to their careers as weathermen--always holding a finger to the wind. If the international fascists are as dangerous as they seem to be , best be real quiet and not get them riled. Polite obedience is an art form here. Which reminds me of a joke.

How do you get 100 Canadians out of a swimming pool?

Yell, "Hey Canadians, Get out of the swimming pool!"

Remember, the BBC is part of the Establishment.

They work hard at trying to appear objective but are far from unbiased.

Every few years there seems to be some spat between the UK government and the BBC (last one I remember was the Dr David Kelly matter). I reckon these are calculated to enhance the BBC's "independent and objective" image. I'm not saying number 10 dictates reporting policy; number 10 is itself only a part of the Establishment.

In certain political matters the BBCs bias is amazing.

Threadbear, I think the punchline should be-

Yell, "Hey Canadians, Get out of the swimming pool!/Hé les Canadiens, sortent de la piscine!"
