Democrats are no doubt guilty of other kinds of corruption, but Abramoff was strictly GOP. Yes, some Indian tribes and other groups that dealt with Abramoff donated to Democrats...but LESS than they had in the past. Abramoff's plan was to cut Democrats off from funding. Traditionally, special interest groups have donated to both parties, since you never know who'll end up in power after the election. Why burn your bridges? Abramoff wanted to force donors to donate only to Republicans. The last thing he wanted was money, corrupt or not, going to Democrats.
