This phrase was the recommendation of my dictionary. I will say a few uncomfortable words to it, if you have understood my sentence wrong!
In German we would say (in direct English): "To spit in someones soup"
or "To oversalt someones soup".
But i think you got me correctly
I'm just reading the thread about stocking up the emergency supplies because of eventual bird flu break out.
So i think my advice with wasting energy is a bit too late.
The real peak oil problem seems to be in the near future.
For me the bird flu panic is a hoax, organized by - at least - the leaders of the worlds leading nations, because they want to gloss over the peak oil problem. But perhaps it is better to have panicking people in drug stores and supermarkets than riots at gas stations because of a dry up of gasoline.
The result of bird flu measures sure will be a strong decline in flight numbers. Because when the break out of the bird flu pandemie is published in the media, everyone wants to avoid masses.
The oil will be getting a lot cheaper because of all the cancelled flights.
By the way, with all this erosion happening all the time in china in the past years and now, even with this sort of cooking, the chinese people get a problem in the next years:
The food will be getting also quite expensive (Import of grain (?) since about three years)!
