For a Diesel Motorcycle, it's too bad these are only for the military Click Here. It sounds like the best of everything.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '.') This is a high performance enduro bike that will run over 100 mph, revs over 7000 rpm and will climb the proverbial "brick wall"

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Free', 'M')y real dream is a diesel bike - there are some who can go 1000 km with one tank filling!!! Plus you can use biodiesel without any modification...
Not to mention the great sound of the engine, you would expect a bulldozer coming along...

38 bhp? Not enough. Perhaps it needs to be turbocharged. If it had 138 bhp it would satisfy me well, although that would be expecting a bit too much from such a small engine. Perhaps 60 or 70 horsepower would be a good target with installation of a turbo.

Imagine it: with proper gearing top speed might increase from 100 or so to over 120 and 0-60 mph acceleration might be 5 seconds. Couple that with 120 mpg or so. That would be acceptable, although I'd like faster.

Even better, build a faring for it to reduce drag. Fuel consumption goes down, top speed(with right gearing if rpm was limiting factor) goes up.

Actually, they did get the diesel KLR to go over 100 mph...

http://www.dieselmotorcycles.com/press.htm

Last year they were telling everyone they would sell these http://www.dieselmotorcycles.com/models.htm for a few a few thousand over the price of a gasser KLR (approx $5,000).

Now they are "limited edition" bikes and they're asking over twelve grand for them. Grrrr.

Huh? The green "limited edition" one is a gasoline KLR with marine corps deco. The model they show there labeled "Bulldog" is a diesel and they say it will be available in March2006.

Oh, and you can ride a motorcycle in winter. Even on snow. I have done it. Sketchy but not impossible. I have a Y2KLR 650. Gets about 50mpg even ridden hard. I would not hesitate to buy one of these diesel things! Droool....
