It's a flying dinosaur called a Dimorphodon, a Pterosaur.

They are thought to have lived on cliffs and flew down to the sea to snatch prey from the surf. Must have been quite a sight!

Of course there are animals living today that are equally weird, such as sea dragons which are actually fish: link

Man & Dinosaur Lived Together !!

Unread postby Lokutus » Mon 15 Jan 2007, 18:19:12

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'D')inosaurs, humans coexist in U.S. creation museum
PETERSBURG, Kentucky (Reuters) - Ken Ham's sprawling creation museum isn't even open yet, but an expansion is already underway in the state-of-the art lobby, where grunting dinosaurs and animatronic humans coexist in a Biblical paradise.
The $27 million project, which also includes a planetarium, a special-effects theater, nature trails and a small lake, is privately funded by people who believe the Bible's first book, Genesis, is literally true.
For them, a museum showing Christian schoolchildren and skeptics alike how the earth, animals, dinosaurs and humans were created in a six-day period about 6,000 years ago -- not over millions of years, as evolutionary science says -- is long overdue.
While foreign media and science critics have mostly come to snigger at exhibits explaining how baby dinosaurs fit on Noah's Ark and Cain married his sister to people the earth, museum spokesman and vice-president Mark Looy said the coverage has done nothing but drum up more interest.

It will make money all-right. The creationists will go to fawn over the displays, and the skeptics will go to laugh at all the science being overlooked. The money spends the same.

I've been following this Ken Ham's antics for a while, and I smell a rat. He's so far over the top that I suspect he my not be a True Believer at all.
I think he may be a world-class con man.
The museum is a characiture of creationism. It's just plain silly. It's as if he's carefully tiptoeing along a fine line, cautiously avoiding getting so far out that he puts off his potential donors, who are plenty gullible enough to buy into it's foolishness, yet espousing things so bizarre that it deftly illustrates the absurdity of the whole creationist manifesto.

What could illustrate a collective crisis in critical thinking better than having large numbers of people pay good money to go through that crazy place and take it seriously?
Consider how bad the "museum" is going to make creationism look, and how much money Ham may be making off the project, and you have to start thinking that there's something wrong with this picture. He can't be serious. I don't think he is. I think he may be just an ingenious promoter. I think it may be a giant scam.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time somebody hijacked religion for their own purposes. Seems to happen on a daily basis now.

It's embarassing to have such hair-brained nitwits here. And it might be humorous if this country didn't have 25,000 nuclear warheads in it's arsenal. $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('gampy', 'I') guess these people get their education watching the Flinstones, while reading scripture.
They would have a better education if they discarded the bible and just watched the Flintstones.

Anyhow my favourite line was $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')am..... believes creationists could have presented a better case at the Scopes trail if they'd been better educated

That could mean quite a lot.
