Oh man that was funny!

Er, hang on, does that mean I’m actually in North Korea?

Funny Spec should mention America invading Australia. From the way our PM talks, we are already a U.S. state.

My connection is too slow view this, so I'll have to pass.

But I do have a novel idea. Let's examine the historical criteria that 'justifies' the invasions performed by America. Maybe we could use this to determine who is 'worthy' of our next intervention.

Since America loves to 'establish democracy' around the world, creating 'freedoms' for oppressed peoples, I suggest we deploy the US military to invade an oppressed nation of people who do not live under the auspices of democracy, hmmm, let's see, that would have to be ......... America!

Moreover, since it is a 'policy' of the US to topple evil dictators, particulary those that illegally invade other countries, and especially if they have any resources we may be interested in, then the next country that would have to be at the top of the invasion list is a country who is illegally invading, ruling by dictatorship, abundant in resources, hmmmm, that would have to be .......... America!

And since the US is known to overthrow the evil banana republics that dared to elect their own officials, declaring themselves somehow exempt from US policies, hmmm, the country that best fits this requrement is....... America!

And since America is also well known to overthrow the governments of any nations that oppose it's supreme will and dictates by assassination, murder, economic destruction and overthrow, the only country name that I can think of is that is presently opposing the supreme will and dictates of America, is, hmmmm ....... America!

And since the resources to invade are already here, then there won't be any need to transport large quantities of goods or troops for the invasion, errr, well, I guess we might have a little problem after all. But hey, that's four out of five very good reason to invade America!

Remember, the liberated survivors will welcome us with open arms, clamoring for a true democracy and the opportunity to finally be free of their oppressors and evil government officials. They might even have free and honest elections! Imagine that! And the new puppet government, well golly gee, we could appoint one of our own! It would be so easy!

However, I do strongly suggest we refrain from using depleted-uranium weapons, 'shock-and-awe' bombing campaigns, oil-for-food exchanges, bombing of hospitals, depriving of medicines or the assassination of doctors and journalists. Oh, and torture too, it's bad for publicity.

Such tactics if employed again are bound to get the natives a bit riled up.

Personally, I've always been fond of Ireland. And, I've always wanted to live in one of them drafty old castles. So, let's do Ireland.

Big bonus: They already speak the language.

Yeah, the Australian mainland said North Korea, and Tasmania said South Korea. “Wow, I never realised how big North Korea was!”

I liked how when asked, “who should America invade next”, everyone just accepted that it’s a given that America will invade more countries. I mean, that’s what America does, right?

Erl... did you watch the video? *raises eyebrow* :p [smilie=icon_wink.gif]

And pick somewhere else.. we've already been invaded. :p

If drafty old castles is your thing.. France has WAY more than we do. And England. If you can find them on the atlas that is...

Sorry, I did not watch the video. I'm on dial-up here and anything, anything will crash this computer. I'll check it out when I'm at my office tomorrow.

Will it change my mind about invading Ireland?

I've never been to France. Someday, maybe. But, I have been to Ireland and would dearly like to return. Next to Switzerland and Tillamook, Oregon, I think Ireland ranks right up there.

Omnitir,

Yeah, as a matter of fact you're right and I'd never thought about it quite that way. As we all know, the USA is the only country on earth running amok invading this country and that. But what makes it interesting is that all that killing and destruction is all just for entertainment and kicks because it's obvious to anyone with an ounce of common sense that there is really nothing whatsoever to gain from any of it.

Pretty strange behavior, don't ya think?? There is, in fact, no way to justify this madness... and it is madness... killing and destruction madness... all for fun.

And what would you say should have been our reaction to 9/11? Tell the terrorists "Good show chaps! You got us there!" and move on??

It might... or it might not. It all depends on how good your knowledge of global geography is... when you watch the video, you'll see what I mean.

And you don't have to invade Ireland to come live here. :)

Spec,

What would Jesus do? Umm, somewhere in that hallowed text called The Bible, he said such radically liberal things like: "turn the other cheek" and "love thy neighbor as theyself".

I don't object to the military intervention in Afghanistan so much. What's infuriating to me is that the so called "Christian" Pro life community is heartily endorsing war, killing, and destruction, which seems to contradict the very Christian principles they claim to believe in and practice.

Somewhere, somehow the ideas of Jesus Christ, the foundations of Christianity. have been lost in this country, replaced by worship of the almighty dollar.

Praise the Greenback!

"Send me money, send me green, heaven you will meet. Make your contribution and you'll get the better seat" (Bow to Leper Messiah).

Metallica.

I used to think that song was reactionary. Now its eerily prophetic, don't you think.

And, in regard to the video. Jeeezus. Are average Mericuns that stupid?

I could have done better in the second grade than those so-called educated adults. Truly frightening. Maybe the video was edited to show the dumbest people, and the people who actually knew where France was were left out?

God I hope so.

Roy,

An immediate, overwhelming, and regime-changing intervention in Afghanistan would have been one thing, but a pointless permanent military occupation, such as the one the US is conducting at present, is quite another.

The US is on the wrong course in Afghanistan. No country has ever terminated a military occupation of Afghanistan in a positive light, and the US will be no different.

I am curious, which 'christian' community do you refer to? Catholics for example officially oppose the US led millitary intervention in the middle east. Just there you have over half of all 'christians' in the world?! Though their numbers are in the minority in the US.

Well, let's see now. Who should the US invade next? By way of consistency and being a good global neighbor, I think we should invade Israel next.

Iraq violated 17 UN resolutions. Israel has violated 33.

And I don't want to hear any anti-semitic accusations. Arabs of all stripes are semites, too.
