Hmm, maybe. Or just an indication of how many english words, or combinations of words, sound like other words backwards.

I'd like to reserve judgement on any deep and meaningful significance until I see some data about the incidence of this phenomena in other languages. If it is a subconscious communication tool it should be found across the whole human spectrum not just in one of its most prolific and flexible languages.

If someone found the same patterns in Swahili, Mandarin Chinese, Cherokee and Afganistani, then I'd be impressed.
Kind regards, Katkinkate

Nope, that ain't it omnitir... lol. Not even close. And no I'm not going to give any hints... heh.

Your first wife divorced you because you are a mirror image of those you revile--overly emotional and given to hissy fits if someone doesn't agree with your personal cosmology. Hardened atheists and bible thumping weirdos lack a rational spirit of true inquiry. Sorry for being hard on you, but the disdainful attitude is tiresome.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

No threadbear, you silly rabbit, my religious beliefs are quite strong and, in many parts of the world, would indeed be considered mainstream. One day you might meet me and you would agree... you might even like to share with me yours in a friendly atmosphere like we generally all share here at PO.com.

And I revile no one, not even those in the current ruling circle in DC and elsewhere responsible for The Stupid Iraq Oil War (one could, however, call my attitude towards them disdainful... yup). But yes, I do get very passionate (emotional...lol) and vocal (hissy fits... he he he) about such things as this.

But I do agree with you about hardened athiests and bible thumpers... it's interesting and strange to see them go at it solo or with each other. They often do seem so very much alike. 8O

It’s not socialist or communist beliefs is it Eastbay? Because if it were, I’m sure you could mention that here without offending too many people. ;)

Anyway, since I'm posting in this thread, I don't believe in:

Alien visitors
That the galaxy has more then a handful of Earth type planets – at the very most
Anything supernatural
Anything metaphysical
Most conspiracy theories
That human behaviour isn’t something we can easily change
That science has discovered most of what there is left to discover
That the laws of physics are absolute, within the context of what we know
That the moon landings were faked
That technological discoveries are “running out”
That society is getting dumber – changing, but not dumber
That cars are necessary
That civilisation is about to come crashing down
That people can be so certain about what the future holds…

Yeah, but this thread is about what one does NOT believe in... and the world is so very full of stuff to NOT believe in.

In fact, believe me, sometimes my belief is that I believe I do NOT believe in more than I do believe, can you believe that?

Man one can really start a fight with an attitude like that, let me tell ya!!

Well Eastbay, you disarm me with your diplomacy

But how are you capable of reconciling contempt for belief in the supernatural with your own faith in a mainstream religion? Does the mainstream religion have more cache because it has a bureaucracy, nice buildings devoted to it, and a reliable social network? I just don't get it. Pleeeze 'splain.

Threadbear,

I know I'm getting a bit up there in the years, but I don't recall posting here anything contemptuous toward any particular belief system, or towards those who hold beliefs in the supernatural. Let me scan back a minute here, just in case.... nope, not a single derrogatory word. If I do start this sort of meanspiritedness, or if I start posting unkind things about anyone in particular someone please call me on it and it will cease pronto. We all have our 'bad' moments... lol.

I think you might be mistaking me for someone else, a common mistake and one I seem to make here all the time.
