The best of movies, growing up....

Unread postby Specop_007 » Tue 11 Oct 2005, 01:09:01

Remember when you were younger? Of course you do. So, what were your favorite movie as a kid?
Mine would be Stand By me. That is just a fantastic movie. The Goonies was good too, and Spaceballs will always be a strong runner up.
But Stand By Me will always have a special place in my heart. 8)

Either hackers, blood sport, or Teenage mutant ninja turtles

Though awhile back I seen teenage mutant ninja turtles again and I thought it was incredibly dorky.

Star Wars. And as much as I hate to admit it, in my prepubecent, but damned near there era, Grease. Who was that blonde bombshell?

The main character seemed to have a funny walk though.

Since Star Wars has been beat to death, I'll go with my #2:

Akira Kurosawa's Ran.

I'll never forget when I saw this movie 15 years ago. Hands down best battle scene in a movie. No CGI's just 100's of extras fighting with samurai swords and polearms with a music score amps the adrenaline. Braveheart on Japanese steroids.

PrairieMule with the best avatar has an interesting tagline too: "A Mule will labor patiently and dilligently for 10 years for the privlidge of Kicking you once"-William Faukner. I had a near-death experience as a kid walking behind a horse inappropriately named 'Saint'. Saint let go with both shoed hooves at me as I ignorantly walked behind him (about 8 years old). I put up my hands in defense and caught each hoof, one on each hand. Stung for days. Could have smashed my face in. Oh, favorite movies: The Great Escape
