$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('auctionmonster', 'w')hat on earth do you guys have on your computer that your afraid the government is going to see... crap I don't even use a firewall
Nothing much, just financial transactions, e-mails, and the occasional classified CIA document ... nah, just kidding

Yeah, seriously though, elroy is right - you should have a firewall at least, especially if your PC is connected to "always-on" broadband.
There are thousands of "script kiddies" out there who have nothing better to do but probe all the available addresses they can, and execute hostile scripts to try to take over your computer.
If they succeed, your computer may be used as a staging ground for further attacks on other computers, to host illegal material (warez, kiddie porn, etc), which *you* may be liable for (it's your IP and connection).
I used to work in a sorta cyberwarfare dept (no worries, I'm on the good guys' team), and I've seen how easy it can sometimes be to take over a PC completely. Do be careful.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('auctionmonster', 'H')ey lowem, I just took a look at your blog, I am going to add you to my favorites.
