Single POers

Unread postby kelee877 » Sun 11 Sep 2005, 11:00:57

How about a singles section for peak oilers, you may never know about meeting someone in here...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('kelee877', 'H')ow about a singles section for peak oilers, you may never know about meeting someone in here...

What would be the point, everyone here thinks the world is about to end and pretty much everybody is going to die. Not good relationship material.

You don't want to die a virgin, do you guest?

I disagree with that last statement.

As others have posted in other threads, the strained relationships between spouses, when one is a peakoiler and the other is not, is evidence enough for me that a perhaps an even better relationship can exist when the couple are both peakoilers.
After all, a common paradigm and plans for the future can be a very strong glue that keeps the relationship together.

Actually I think it's a good idea. I'm happily (mostly) married, but could see that it would be ideal for single people to meet someone who shares some of the same concerns. I have a single friend who's a very good catch though!!!

I too would be a good catch for some lucky man..althou I do have a tendency to get stressed to the max about TSHTF stuff, but with no one to share with it gets hard..kids are great, but they are more interested in fishing and catching snakes( the game of the day today)....lol

And yes I dropped the bot( joke from another post)...I got tired of being cut down for what I beleived in about PO or TSHTF...so I am off on my own again, but with all my commen sense intact and all my preps safe and secure...

SWM seeking SWF, MWF, SBF, MBF, or Goat. Must believe that the end of the world is nigh...

It went on but i can't remember it all...NOWWWW, fishing & catching snakes!!! :) THAT sound like fun! (good food sources to).

I doubt Dan or Aaron wants to see this turn into a dating service.

And I have a feeling that MonteQuest would simply walk away if we started something like that.

Personally I think it is a bad idea. It hurts our image.

We should have a poll about this to see what The People want.

I agree. That's what the PMs and profiles are for anyway, right?

I don't want to see moderator posts stating something like "get a room for crying out loud!"

I couldn't agree more. However, I think we are all too spread out to do something like a singles room. Why not try that e-harmony thing a friend of mine has high hopes for it, but it apparently take a long time to do the questionaire.

Sorry to hear about the bot. it does take a lot to make a decent match. YOu may want to suggest that they increase the profile info. you could ask for a marital status listing where you could say single and looking...

Maybe some enterprising peak oiler can start his/her own website for matching up other peak oilers. If you do let me know and I'll describe there my friends many stunning qualities. She's not a peak oiler, per se, but I think she'd be open to it and she's definitely on the zero population growth line of thinking (although I think she's open to the idea of possibly having or adopting 1 or 2 children).

Maybe we should build a "Peak Dating" Service?

Heheh!
23 yo SWM seeks SWF/MWF/SBF/MBF/goat for long term relationship. You: Enjoy gardening, socially independent, believes that modern society is coming to an end. Me: Athletic, enjoys romantic dinners on top of mountains overlooking ruined cities, has bike.
