I think Chuckmack makes a good point when he says

The other part of what he says is only worth ignoring. Any inner city poor neighborhood will be come even more of a crime ridden hell hole when our economy contracts.
My buddy works for a medical supply company in Atlanta and he has to make deliverys of equipment all the time to very, very poor people. He was going to this one apartment complex one of the ones with the high gates around them that look more like the gates are supposed to keep people in then keep people out.
Any way the security guard at the front looked at him like he was crazy and said "Your not going to be here after dark are you?" in a voice of legitimate concern my buddy replied "no, I am going to just be in and out" the guard replied "good you better be."
There are places in this country where most of us cannot fathom how people live. And to those who claim to live in the hood, I say , there is the hood and then there is the hood.
Personally I would much rather fight a horde of former soccer moms than T-Bone who just got done stomping a mud whole in some punk's ass armed with his favorite gat.
