$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')t is totally weird to see that all this might be coming.

It is like having a ring side seat to the end of life as we have known it.

Anyone want my seat?

One thing I love about this board is the sense of humor here. You all are slaying me! I know this is a serious subject but it is nice to see a sense of humor about it. When I was in the Navy we had a saying - "We laugh because we can't cry". Sometimes that's what I feel like with all of these runaway trains converging at once....
After fueling up their cars, Twyman says they bowed their heads and asked God for cheaper gas. There was no immediate answer, but he says other motorists joined in and the service station owner didn't run them off.

Know exactly what you mean. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know I was sitting in the front of the train!

You worry too much. BiGG has some great ideas about algae farming which are going to solve the problem.

Has anyone else noticed that Katerina is following the scenario set forth in the Oil Storm movie? In the movie a hurricane at Labor Day devestated Luosiana, the LOOP, and the offshore platforms.........Things went down hill from there.

I expected to find this thread refreshed! FX could have produced a prophetic documentary

In a way its creepy, I expected things to go from OK to rough to really bad over the course of the next 5 years, the Oil Storm scenario could put us in the really bad period by Christmas 2005. I hope everyone is wrong and Katerina turns south instead of north.
It would make life in the USA much more pleasent in the short term.

I dont think the producers of Oil storm neccessarily needed a crystal ball to see this type of a situation occuring.

To the novice, Oil storm might seem like prophecy yet in reality its simple observation.

Yeah it was ok because it brung a side issue of PO to an otherwise ignorant populous who happens to watch the Fox network - yet the producers clearly avoided Peakoil and for that I cannot forgive them!!!! :o

Seems we will be needing some russian gasoline instead of oil to save this day.....

Bottom line - this is Temporary - Peak oil is not.

Good day to you sir!!! :-D

Wonder if FX is going to re-run that movie. It would definitely draw a lot of viewership. Of course, there are some who would say it's in bad taste to do that.

What Are The Odds?

Anyone know what the odds are of a huricane like the one in the movie striking a direct hit on the same target, I.E. Port Fourchon?

I don't think the movie was called Oil STORM for nothing!

I havent seen the movie yet just heard about it from a friend.

Coincidence or not but fox also aired the tv show the lone gunman, if any of you have seen the pilot episode then you will see how it mirrored the events of 911 but was filmed in 2000 and aired 6 months prior to september 11th 2001.

http://killtown.911review.org/lonegunmen.html

Go to this link and check it out very very strange and far too close to the real events to be a pure coincedence.

If this has been discussed before im sorry but only just signed up and havent looked back at any past discussions.
