I didn't post this as a news article, because I couldn't verify the original source. Plus, it has all those nasty characters instead of quotes and apostrophes that got lost in transmission.

Big biz is always trying to get into the pants of the education sector. When I was teaching (briefly) computer technology to 4-6 graders, Intel sent me a glossy 4 inch thick binder with a computer "curriculum" to be taught. It was slick and everything had the Intel label slapped on it.

Having made that comment, I must mention that it did give me a lot of good ideas, and unlike matters dealing with the environment or culture, there isn't a lot of room for corporate opinions when discussing binary code.
