Hundreds of people may've been exposed to MERS in Orlando

MERS #2 spent 4 hours coughing in a busy hospital waiting room until he could be seen. He then spent 8 hours being examined by numerous healthworkers and in a conventional hospital room before the staff realized he was from Saudi Arabia and they moved him to an isolation ward.

The hospital announced they are changing their procedures. They will now immediately ask sick people in the waiting room if they are coming from Saudi Arabia.

Patient 0 in Orlando is improving, and the two healthcare workers that treated him tested negative for MERS:

South Korean authorities have ordered nearly 2,000 schools closed nationwide to prevent the spread of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).
The health ministry on Monday reported 23 new infections, bringing the total to 87. Six people have so far died in the outbreak, as the government looks for ways to contain the spread.

As the death toll rose to nine and the number of confirmed cases of MERS rose to 103 on Wednesday, Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett, reporting from Seoul, said a deputy prime minister told people with MERS symptoms to not present themselves at hospital.

I guess if doomers keep chanting "the end is near" long enough, eventually they can proclaim "See, I was right!" At least broken clocks are right twice a day.
