I think our current big idea is everyone needs an iPhone, at some point I hope we all decide on a different priority. But "TPTB" didn't come up with the iPhone economy and force it down our throats (regardless of Jobs' ego). They only have our feathers with which to line their nest.

There is a greater portion of the human race living in representative democracies now than ever in the past.

Which is why I repeatedly use the qualifier, objectivity. Objectivity is a function of the material context. Ideas such as liberty, republicanism and the fraternity of all men was born out of material conditions and material conditions will once again play its role. The overarching cap on our future prospects however is the climate which is infinite growths ticking time bomb. In other words time is not on our side.
