The real concern for the world, and our daily lives is "WHAT IS".

Literally anything could happen in the future, dealing with 'What is' is all we can really do and hope for. 'What if' is always unknowable.

The link that started this thread leaves the impression that the decision makers in the CFR have decided you are consuming too much oil and are planning to put you on a diet.

Putting this in the form of a question was just a gentle way of presenting the information to you. Seeing as how you have thicker skin than that and you seem able to deal with reality, let me ask another question.

Are you going to be a good little slave and allow your owners to deliberately impose shortages upon your society? What are you going to do about it?

Not sure where you are coming from, it is THE petroleum, some of it is ours, some of it is theirs for sale and some of it is theirs and not for sale and some of it is presently not worth the effort to obtain due the cost of production or perhaps the risk involved. Ours is not enough to run society the way we have to date and wish to continue doing to without some of theirs and perhaps a way of not using as much of ours or theirs.

We have conservative think tanks who think we will be able to offer our form of government to people who do not seem to be able to accept it and then buy their petroleum on friendly terms, we have hawkish think tanks who seem to see it as petroleum for the conqueror, and then we have various lines of thought from voluntary transition to government guided transition.

Almost all of the viewpoints can use an identifiable organized human foes as the required enemy they are fighting valiantly against instead of the resource limit of inexpensive petroleum supply.

My opinion is that we are going to try all the ploys until the supply is limited globally and then figure out what to do next. Do you have a foe and a ploy that you think works better than others or a completely different take on the whole scenario?

It was attempted in the UK and almost ended up in a total shutdown of the country.
