Interesting. Out of curiosity, what "serious action" would you expect from government?
More government in general to "take care of us"? More significant infrastructure preparedness (i.e. more spare parts, more maintenance, more robustness)? Actually planning ahead and not spending current resources to the breaking point, so when something bad happens we actually have meaningful resources to deal with it? Something else?
I just see so PROFOUND a disconnect between 99% of the public's lives and 99% of government policy -- and planning ahead to deal well with adverse events -- that I'm curious as to what you mean by "serious action".
1. taxing consumption instead of labor.
2. Stop subsidizing children.
3. Extra (continuously rising) consumption taxes on FF.
4. Bully Pulpit for Victory gardens, conservation, and living local.
