$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('GoghGoner', 'P')eakers are a tiny part of the global population, so tiny as to be insignificant. Maybe when the author first thought of the book oil prices were rising and the active community was growing. Since 2009, TOD has shut down, EB rebranded, LATOC shut down, very few active posters on PO.COM, etc... We are as dead as Latin.
The problem isn't so much as "peakers" being insignificant as much of the global population not realizing that what they thought would never happen has already started.
In a way, the issue is far removed from that of Latin, which was replaced by other languages. In this case, there are hardly any replacements.
The implication, then, is that what will happen next will not be decided upon by what is popular but by physics.
