$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')erhaps it is academic if the source is unconfirmed. Many credible people are weighing in on peak oil, and the proof is in the pudding as it were.

It is suspicious as a news source, but then again, the ASPO article was not attributed was it? Perhaps that post was only a confirmation, and not original source.

Here's the first part of mine,

"Hello all,

It seems to me that it is pretty obvious that any finite resource will have a mid point of availability. It isn’t a huge leap them to understand that the high point of discovery indicates the eventual high point of production. While economists can wax about “demand destruction” and “replacement technology” the difference is that this “commodity” is fundamental to our ENTIRE way of life, there is no replacement technology to this fantastically “dense” energy source and the few possibilities will take years and huge investments to even get close. Demand destruction in this case relates to the reduction of the world FOOD supply for kripe sakes! "

Looking at some of my other early posts, I realize that getting out of CA has been a big factor in a lowering of my Doomerosity Level.

Yeah... I'd been reading the ASPO site & LATOC & Dieoff before that.

I corrected a spelling mistake... :)

Yup clocks look out of synch... crap.

Here's mine. Still on the front page. :-D

The Peakoil Perfect Storm

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')n the research for a book I just finished, I came across this website. In reviewing the many posts and the different threads of discussion, I see a decline scenario that no one seems to have broached as yet. I will call it the Peak Oil Perfect Storm. While "peak oil" in of itself seems to be a harbinger of disaster, they are many other factors at play that I feel will exacerbate our ability to forestall a hard-landing. Here are some of the things I see:
A Saudi saying, "My father rode a camel. I drive a car. My son flies a jet-plane. His son will ride a camel."

Violent American movies giving foreigners wrong impression?

I was obviously straight into my stride of keeping Americans accountable.
