More Trouble In The Restaurant

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Thu 29 Jun 2006, 17:32:55

Business is down over twenty percent from two years ago. It's not looking good. We have a better cook who makes all the deserts from scratch, and all the dressings for salads, yummy good too, and he makes all the bread too so we don't have to buy it. Small businesses are sqeezed though and there isn't anything you can do about it. We used to make lots of deliveries of food to local businesses. Many of them are gone, to India no doubt. Meanwhile, the energy bills are crushing and the profit margin is squeezed. I feel sorry for the owner, he bought it three years ago when it was thriving.

Nawww-it wouldn't sell out there. Might do better it was served at a Applebee's in the Midwest.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I like that restaurant where I've worked for ten years. I like the people there. I'm not looking forward to the place closing. I can probably replace the secondary income, but not the camaraderie.

I for one don't doubt the growth in economy. The housing bubble and high prices have been a boon for those who skim their existance off the top (local state and fed gov't) Lots of new jobs in the gov't!

The RV park I pass on my walk to town only has 3 or 4 RVs. Usually by now the place is packed with tourists. A hotel and a bar (a BAR for godsakes) have closed here. The realtor's window has 1/2 acre river lots offered @ $200,000, and there's 40 acres with a creek @ 1.2 million--no house or anything. This is all insanity. The fed just raised interest rates again--this will add $300 billion to mortgage payments this year, and $1 trillion next year. This house of cards ain't gonna last much longer.

I have noticed "rich" people don't leave their $35,000 diesel 4X4s running outside stores anymore.

It's only a matter of time, the Iron Triangle is going to lose. But not before people are all suffering. Then those schmucks who imagine themselves to be at the "top" will be crestfallen too.

Dont buy land or homes now. Do not give the ponzi real estate scum anything. even if it means your living under a bridge post peak. These dirt bags are milking their unsustainable cess pool for all its worth. And also dont give these bloated gut piles who are trying to cash in on their shithole. trying to make profits off a shoddy structure on a postage stamp. Thats reallly what its about: bloats trying to cash in. make profits on their real estate. so they rape the earth and then add on the rape of who buys their stuff. What a feeding frenzy! I was going to buy 40 acres and a house but refuse to pay these scammers. and have dept added on. No wonder we are at this stage. Ponzi landlords, ponzi real estate brokers, ponzi owners, ponzi everything. Its called THE END of the Ponzi. its nearing fast.

"The Iron Triangle" I heard that phrase at the OilDrum. Real Estate, Cars, and Banks, I think it is. They are the ones desperately trying to hold on to the status quo. They are the ones paying the advertisement revenue that keeps the media going. House Of Cards.

Look at the bright side. demand destruction. those that save and live in regions that will hold out longer (ones helping feed china and india) will still ahve gas fairly cheapand food. and will be able to afford it. They will also have to deal with the hordes.
More chaos coming soon!

Yeah, you're probably right. But no way am I gonna be glad about it. I've got kids, and I fear for their future. The anarchist wet dream of cities on fire is not for me.

You've been my best backer, holmes, but I can't get behind you on this one. I don't want this world to come crashing down. I want to live out my life in peace and see my kids happy.
