$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'I') know a lot about GMO's also and the skinny on modified agriculture crops...
And I know a lot about Expletive deleted..

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'G')reat! I guess that ends the discussion. With that knowledge you might well be taken to the cleaners in the thermal depolymerization market. Let me know how it goes. :twisted:
Don't ever bother to back up what you pull out of your Expletive deleted. for us!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'C')areful Short[onbrains]. You might have to defend biofools, and I know that is way out of your league. Or do you want to give it a try?

I'm always game for learning something new.

You go round up someone who knows how to read links posted, doesn't insist that no matter what the answer is, they won't listen to it, and who completed enough science course work in college to understand sublimation, and isn't so delusional as to claim that there is no local produce or meat available in America, and him/her and me could probably have an interesting conversation.

A sentence absolutely devoid of content but full of adjectives, pronouns, participles, and conjunctivitis.

Well, I had to give a semantic specialist true believer like yourself something to work with.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PStarr', '
')Care to discuss bioreactors? Or net-energy analysis of biofools?

Have you found someone who meets the above criteria?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PStarr', '
')What do you actually know about genomes, cellulosic ethanol, lipid production with restrained silicon and phosphates?

Haven't catelogued my biologic knowledge lately.....I might know nothing about any of them. But considering your prior history of misrepresentations of factual information and admission that no matter what information is provided you have no intention of listening to it, YOU certainly don't qualify as a trustworthy source for the time of day, let alone actual information upon which to either A) learn from or B) discuss with.

Now, run along and pray to Ruppert or Savinar or Heinberg or whatever it is eco-fascists do in their spare time, I'm sure if I develop any interest to see what Exxon is spending their $600M on I can find an actual science source rather than whatever the current ouija board specialist wants to pass off as some teaching colleges version.

Contrary to your title, you aren't an expert. You only got that title because of seniority. Here's a concept, why not backup your assertions with real info? Either from truely unbiased websites or depending on the subject matter real peer reviewed journals (Cell, Nature, etc).

You first. I went shopping at my local farmers market this evening. Still want to insist that locally grown produce and meat is unavailable in America, or can I present you with a burger and salad to convince you otherwise? :-D

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I') challenge you bio-engineers to provide evidence for three GMO crop classes. I assert there are only two--bt modified corn and herbicide resistance soy etc. No new GMO agriculture products have been introduced in 15 years since these anomalies.

Actually China released a new kind of GMO rice last year (link here), and there are many kinds of GM varieties of papaya, tomatoes, and many others. I'm not a bio-engineer though.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'C')ontrary to your assertions I never claimed to be an expert.

You did say in another thread recently "you will note my credentials" or something to that effect.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut at least corn produces ethanol in a simple well-known manner studied, quantified, and even commercialized. No one has ever powered a truck, car, or even a weed wacker on algae lipids not because it is not impossible but because failures of scale. The hurdles to create an algae culture/production system that would at the end of the day make fuel in significant quantities have proven over 20 years to be insurmountable. Not for lack of trying. Just because J. Craig Venter has sequenced genes in a human chromosome (remember genes only account for 3% of DNA information--the rest is a mystery) does not even suggest an ability to actually create a viable algae strain. That has heretofore proven impossible. Do your research.

Not once did I ever say that these things would "save" us, or defend either of these things. Corn ethanol is impractical and the algae thing is too new (we don't know its full potential yet and it likely needs more development).

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'Y')ou corie deniers may not want to listen to Simmons et. al. but they have Steve Forbes ears.

Um, as usual, you didn't read stuff too carefully. That wasn't Steve Forbes talking, that was Chris Nelder.

Every newspaper or magazine publishes differing viewpoints/editorials. The WSJ lets liberal democrats write columns regularly. Why should Forbes magazine be any different?

Plus Simmons has already been debunked so badly that pStarr stopped defending him in other threads....geez...next he'll forget that Hirsch 2005 said we needed decades to get ready for peak oil and then it happened and all us Americans got out of it was happy motoring all over again!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'Y')ou come round here trying to convince people you are an oil geologist or engineer..

Big. Fat. Lie. Seems that's all you can do these days.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'N')ow you know more about economics and finances than Forbes--Steve, Nicky, Shirley or whomever. The article was printed in magazine named and (I assume) owned by the family. The entire family just said peak has occurred. And they said it is very very very very serious.

No, Chris Nelder said it. Have you ever not read a newspaper? Glanced at an op-ed page, perchance? Clearly you haven't. If you had, you'd know that any decent journalistic entity regularly prints or airs opposing views. Think of Pat Buchanan or Lou Dobbs on CNN. Do you think CNN endorses Lou Dobb's views? Hardly. Yet, they've even given him his own show!

Your cluelessness continues unabated. Saying that Forbes magazine endorses peak oil just because they published an op-ed piece by Chris Nelder is like saying peakoil.com endorses Cornucopian views just because they let me post here!

:lol:
