It is year long monsoon season over here.

Yesterday parts of the Phoenix region hit 115F(46C). It was 112F when I went for my 40 minute afternoon walk. I grew up in the midwest with 90+F heat and 80-100% humidity which is far worse.

Flu in the tropics is the WORST! You think, hey, it's the tropics, it's warm, go out in the yard and grab a mango, lie in bed with your mango smoothie or whatever, but wow flu in the tropics is just nasty.

When I was last in Hawaii (it would be a nice place after a little neutron bomb delousing) and got something ..... was in bed a week and when I was able to go out and do something, like have a bowl of coconut milk soup at Keo's, I had all this blood coming out of my nose, it was awful, I was thinking, if they catch sight of this bloody napkin I keep leaking into they'll put me in some kind of container at the local CDC.... yuk.

I gradually got better, good cold soul food was Coke and Japanese munchies, various types of sugar-blasted crispy snacks in bags.

When I wasa kidin Nebreaska it was expected you'd have snow in the winter, usually most of the winter.

There's now in finnish teletext tv news that there is a horrible heat wave at India and Pakistan. In India, death toll is at over 300 and in Pakistan, 100. At some parts temperature has risen to 50C, a record temperature!

We hit 98F yesterday, 90F today, 85F tomorrow, 90F Sun, upper 90's Monday...no relief until atleast late next week. Dewpoints haven't been horrible, with DP in the mid 60's (could be mid 70s!). I think its the moisture (dewpoint)thats make going outside unthinkable.

Europe is boiling (atleast we have AC!)...

This has got to make us use more oil then normal?

I went bicycling once in the heat. I was young and foolish then. Road bike. Narrow tires. Oh, and did I mention it was hot?

Yes, it was hot. At one point, I was going kind of slow on asphalt and happened to look back. It scared me. My tires were leaving permanent marks (depressions) in the hot asphalt. You could track my path all the way back to where the asphalt started.

Weird, huh?
