"dancing" around the world

Unread postby Pablo2079 » Tue 08 Aug 2006, 10:30:05

This is an interesting video where this 20 something guy gets to travel all over the world and "dance". It's about 3.5 minutes. One of the interesting locations is an indoor ski hill in Brunei, talk about energy intensive!

While watching this, I couldn't help think that doing something like this will be pretty cost prohibitive in the near future. Looks like he got some kind of sponsorship to do it though....

I must say he has excellent taste in destinations. Forget about Peak Oil for three minutes and forty-two seconds and just enjoy travelling with Matt.

Like almost all art, this can be labelled as being wasteful of resources, frivolous and self-indulgent. I've never been able to afford much travel. I'm lucky it's enough for me to vicariously sample exotic locations through stories, pictures, documentaries and silly movies like this one.

Travel opens the mind like nothing else. Most people choose crappy destinations like Vegas or Disney, but even the misguided can't help but have their worldview stretched by the journey.

A walk around the neighborhood is always more enlightening than an hour spent playing your favorite video game.
