When is the trgger going to be pulled on Iran.

http://www.cnn.com/

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')ezbollah fought Israeli troops in a month-long war in southern Lebanon in 2006, a conflict sparked by a cross-border raid in which Hezbollah fighters killed three Israeli soldiers and took two others captive. The conflict ended with a U.N.-brokered cease-fire, and the Israeli soldiers remained captive when the fighting ended.

Intelligence officials say Daqduq is one of Hezbollah's top special operations commanders, an expert in the use of roadside bombs. The Americans say he, along with the Iraqi militia commanders he worked with, has admitted working with Iran's elite Quds Force special operations unit.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'D')EBKAfile’s counter-terror sources disclose the Scottish commission’s decision was influenced by the increasing conviction of Western intelligence experts that Iran and Syria, not Libya, may have planned the bombing disaster, which cost 270 lives.

It's only a matter of time before they pin Pearl Harbour and the Shelling of Fort Sumter on the Iranians as well. Come to think of it, Gavrillo Princep the guy who shot Archduke Ferdinand looked very Iranian don't you think.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WildRose', 'E')byss, you could try planting zucchini. The plants grow almost anywhere and are prolific. If you like zucchini, just a few plants will give you more than you know what to do with. You can bake with them (shredded), slice and saute with other vegetables, make zucchini sticks baked in the oven. They basically take on the flavor of whatever spices you cook them with.

If you get adequate sunshine where you live, raspberry bushes are a good bet because they multiply (but not too fast) and they need little upkeep.

Good advice.

Also tomatoes and pumpkins are easy to grow and give a good crop.

Summers: U.S. economy backs away from abyss

Unread postby Ache » Fri 17 Jul 2009, 13:25:09

http://www.reuters.com/article/GCA-Econ ... UC20090717

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')ASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States averted a financial catastrophe but sustainable recovery depends on redirecting the economy away from consumption, a top White House economic adviser said on Friday.

In excerpts of remarks prepared for delivery later on Friday, Lawrence Summers also defended President Barack Obama's "ambitious" policy agenda, saying it would lay the foundation for future prosperity.

"We were at the brink of catastrophe at the beginning of the year but we have walked some substantial distance back from the abyss," Summers said in excerpts of a speech released by the White House. "Substantial progress has been made in rescuing the economy from the risk of economic collapse that looked all too real six months ago."

Summers said the rebuilt U.S. economy must be more export-oriented, with less of a focus on consumer spending and the sort of financial engineering that has been blamed for contributing to the current economic crisis.

The economic recovery should be "more middle-class-oriented and less oriented to income growth that disproportionately favors a very small share of the population," he said.

Critics of Obama's policy plans, which include reforming health care and addressing climate change, have argued that it is overly costly and ambitious -- particularly in the middle of a deep recession. However, Summers said the reforms were essential for repairing the economy.

"Yes, the President has an ambitious agenda," he said. "But it is an agenda comprised of measures that lay a foundation for future prosperity and for the confidence on which the current recovery depends."

ROTFLMAO
"Summers said the rebuilt U.S. economy must be more export-oriented" while O works on some of the most job killing plans in the history of the country. Doubling the debt (now where will that money come from to build these export businesses) and on and on. Doublespeak in the land of O

Does this mean they don't want us to "Go shopping" anymore? /sarcasm

How do *they* define "sustainable?"

And to wich continent are they gonna export? 80% of the world population has barely enough money to buy food, water and shelter each day.

presumably from the nut job capitalist and their dysfunctional global system. as the dollar falls, we become a far more attractive place to manufacture things in, and the capital will concurrently flow in this direction in order to exploit our workers with their lowered standard of living. too bad they forgot about the resource depletion hobgoblin waiting to pounce.

Imminent abyss aproacheth

http://www.inteldaily.com/2010/04/oil-crash/

Look at this graph and be afraid. It does not come from Earth First. It does not come from the Sierra Club. It was not drawn by Socialists or Nazis or Osama Bin Laden or anyone from Goldman-Sachs. If you are a Republican Tea-Partier, rest assured it does not come from a progressive Democrat. And vice versa. It was drawn by the United States Department of Energy, and the United States military’s Joint Forces Command concurs with the overall picture.

What does it imply? The supply of the world’s most essential energy source is going off a cliff. Not in the distant future, but in a year and a half.

Some ridiculous Doomer posted this same sort of nonsense over at "that other place" and then did the moron circle pretending it was relevant. Why would you cross post the same crap over here to a much more intelligent and discerning audience?

Take a time sequence of data about...say...banana production. Take the most recent information, cast into the future any kind of disparate supply/demand difference you would like, and pretend it's an analysis of value to anyone.

In this particular case, compound the silliness by mistaking it for relevant informationwhile proclaiming "ABYSS APROACHETH!!" in your best Charlton Heston Voice Of God.

When this type of nonsense is fed into "the other place" they twitter like a pre-teen on a first date without a seconds thought to the lack of rigor in its creation, the lack of value in its validity, or anything other than how clever they were, latching onto peak oil as their rationalization for whatever the doom de jour is. Attention span and analytical ability of goldfish.

The abyss always approacheth. It's the shorter-term Bold Predictions that interest me. They are easy enough to track. A prediction of "bad stuff will happen eventually" is not Bold.

We'll check back in a year and a half and see if we have plummeted into the Abyss.

But, being a pedantic sort, I will want a definition of "abyss" and "approacheth."

Maybe I missed it but you never seem to answer the question: What qualifies you as an expert? Aside from a major in sneering what exactly is your analytical background?
