‘We believe Anaran Oilfield could be one of the most important oil exploration businesses of recent years,’ executive vice president of Norway’s Hydro Company Tore Torvund announced at Iran’s 10th Oil and Gas Forum bearing the title ‘New Energies and Global Convergence’.
He also stated that the drilling operation has focused on another location in the field. ‘If successful, Spring of 2007 would witness one of the largest discoveries of recent time,’ Torvund ascertained, MNA said.
Moreover, he considered the Middle East a key strategic energy partner, holding two-third of the world’s identified oil reserves of which Iran owns 12% as well as possessing 15% of global natural gas share. ‘Thus, with no parallel alternative, investments in the region and resource management become more urgent than ever,’ he added.
