T. Boone Pickens Applauds Trump’s Decision to Withdraw From Paris Climate Agreement

Public Policy

Today, President Donald J. Trump announced that he will pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord. Me, I’m with the Weather Channel on this move:

But T. Boone Pickens sees things differently. Here’s the statement he posted to his website:

“Without question, America is a nation committed to environmental leadership. All you have to do is look at how much cleaner our country has gotten over the last 10 years through the expanded use of natural gas. But the Paris Climate Accord is another bad deal negotiated by the Obama Administration, and America should applaud President Trump’s decision to exit. We should pursue a new environmental agreement on the global stage that achieves a fair, balanced and achievable commitment by all nations. This will protect American jobs and create yet another opportunity to focus on utilizing everything American when it comes to energy. Let’s build upon the progress we have made by expanding the use of natural gas in any plan going forward. Make America Great Again.”

The first sentence of that statement is nonsensical. Our president just said he is going to bail on the biggest, most important step taken by world leaders to address an environmental disaster that will, in just a few decades, swallow large swaths of Florida’s coastline (just to pick one small result of the climate change that we, as a species, have accelerated). So, yes, there is a question as to whether America is committed to environmental leadership. There are lots of questions.

As for the rest of his statement, I’m not qualified to assess it. I stopped reading after that first sentence.

This is where it all started Davy. Your quote.

“What would you expect from the anti-American Anglosphere, flowers?”

    Because of this:

“About 200 protesters with the climate change action group 350 Aotearoa were gathered outside Parliament to “unwelcome” Tillerson, following president Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris accord.”

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/06/rex-tillerson-gets-frosty-welcome-in-new-zealand-complete-with-single-finger-salutes?CMP=share_btn_fb

Nothing at all to do with your delusional ‘anti-American Anglosphere’ comment, but about 200 individual people protesting Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris accord, who may or may not all be “anglos”.

    Give it a rest already.

@Davy GregT attacked me too bro, out of the blue.

    Why would people attack me?

I am trained in love. I was part of the r3VOLution. for you just read it backward.

I’m swimming in the sea of russian agents. It’s the new Pravda of the innerwebs.

the world loves strong men and liars like putin, p*ssy grabber and duterte. They hate America.

i also tried to talk to siss but he attacked me too.

  3. ALCIADA-MOLE on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 5:19 pm

I don’t see siss or GregT defend Jewish people. And just because I don’t score doesn’t mean I have to be bitter about women.

I said something Hitchens said and people don’t like me. Do these people think Mother Teresa is doing good, srs?

    http://www.azquotes.com/picture-quotes/quote-mt-mother-teresa-was-not-a-friend-of-the-poor-she-was-a-friend-of-poverty-she-said-that-christopher-hitchens-63-8-0857.jpg

The biggest benefactor of WW2 is Russia. When you say “Ukraine” or “Crimea” or “Georgia” or “Checnya” or the unchecked attrocities against German civilians in ww2, they say “muh Stalingrad”, “Muh Leningrad” “Muh Kursk” “Muh Khakov” “muh moscow”…

“honest” Putin is pouring a lot of sheckles to buy alternative media.

  4. GregT on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 5:28 pm

“I don’t see siss or GregT defend Jewish people.”

I’m sure there are as many good and bad Jewish people, as there is with any other race or religious group CIA.

    Your comment is unfounded.

  5. Davy on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 6:05 pm

Greg, you forgot this part from the other boy wonder from BC. You guys are something else. What do they feed you, numbnuts?
Apneaman on Tue, 6th Jun 2017 11:11 pm
“Oh yeah Davy, there has always been such a rabid anti American bent in New Zealand. Fucking retard. BTW, good on ya and the other denier fuck heads from your stupid state – drown in the water or your own stupidity. No difference. The day after withdrawing from Paris, Trump declared a flooding disaster in Missouri The state, hit hard by global warming-intensified flooding, has elected numerous climate-denying politicians Remember that internationally famous picture of the dead Syrian refugee kid on the beach a couple years ago? I could see a thousand dead Missouri climate babies and I wouldn’t give two fucks. Trump’s cull babies. A whole nation of em lined up to be sacrificed on the Cancer’s alter. See, me and Cheeto have something in common after all, except, unlike trump, I can do nothing to protect them.”

Then shortly after greg the prick and his twink makati gangbang their way in:

    makati1 on Wed, 7th Jun 2017 12:55 am
“Ap, that Missouri redneck also forgets that he sits very close to the New Madrid Fault that is way overdue to blow. The last time it happened, the area was very sparsely populated but it still rang church bells in DC and backed up the mighty Mississippi River. Denial is not recognized by physics or nature.”

GregT on Wed, 7th Jun 2017 1:36 am
“Cut him some slack Mak. Like so many of his delusional kindred, he’s well on the way to imploding in on himself. The guy is a complete whack job.”

    makati1 on Wed, 7th Jun 2017 4:52 am
“GregT, I agree, but his Missouri mule stubbornness is fun to annoy. He keeps trying to defend an impossible position of being so sure that his choice of where to live is so much better than wherever I might chose to live. I’m going to Hong Kong tomorrow to shop and site-see for a day. This is my 4th visit to China. I will probably not be here to pull his chain. I am sure someone else will.”

See greg you’re a lying piece of shit prick.

  6. makati1 on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 6:48 pm

Guys, we all see exactly what Davy is. I see him as a Missouri Mule with a tattered, bloody American Flag painted on one side and the dollar sign painted on the other. A perfect example of the Imperial Indoctrination Program.

I do not care what he thinks of me. He seems to think his viewpoint is important and is the ‘real world’. More American exceptionalism than fact. A total lost cause. If he has a family, I feel sorry for them. When I was raising kids, I never had time to indulge myself. Certainly no time to write long fairy tales to post here.

And, yes, I do enjoy poking a verbal stick at the mule. I am against animal abuse, but I make an exception in his case. I also abhor ignorance when it is a chosen state and not from lack of education. That he seems to be Sinophobic/Russo-phobic is part of his American indoctrination. ALL Asia is now ‘bad’, according to the powers that run the U$, so they cannot possibly be a better place than the U$. The 2X4 of reality is about to strike the U$ where it hurts and he is going to learn a lot about the real world soon. I hope he is prepared. Words cannot hurt you, but chaos can.

  7. GregT on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 6:49 pm

“Why not self reflect becuase you are the root cause of the attacks on this thread. IOW you started it.”

All of the above mentioned comments were in response to your usual delusional anti-American rhetoric Davy.

IE; “What would you expect from the anti-American Anglosphere, flowers?”

Which was in response to the article posted by Apneaman.

Rex Tillerson gets frosty welcome in New Zealand – complete with single finger salutes

“About 200 protesters with the climate change action group 350 Aotearoa were gathered outside Parliament to “unwelcome” Tillerson, following president Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris accord.”

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/06/rex-tillerson-gets-frosty-welcome-in-new-zealand-complete-with-single-finger-salutes?CMP=share_btn_fb

(I will concede, that it is in all likelihood too late to avert a catastrophic runaway event, but at least these people are trying to do something about it. Which is something that you may not agree with, while I do.)

Which was completely on subject with the original article posted above:

    T. Boone Pickens Applauds Trump’s Decision to Withdraw From Paris Climate Agreement

Give it a rest already Davy, before you give yourself a brain aneurysm.

  8. Davy on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 7:06 pm

Greg and makati what a pair. Both are assholes and liars. How was the high carbon shopping trip to HK Makati? Greg would be proud of you. He is into high carbon trips too and climate change rants. What a couple of numbnuts!

  9. GregT on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 7:41 pm

Nothing of substance Davy. Can’t you talk like a normal person and behave as an adult?

  10. makati1 on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 7:59 pm

Davy, a trip that burned about 12 gallons of jet fuel to get me there and back is hardly “High carbon”. It took more gas than that for me to visit my mom when I lived in Philly. My TOTAL fuel use in the last year (HK & taxis) would not fill the tank of an American SUV one time. Facts and reality seem to keep getting in the way of your rants, don’t they? LMAO

  11. GregT on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 8:16 pm

“you forgot this part from the other boy wonder from BC. You guys are something else. What do they feed you, numbnuts?”

What’s with your fixation on where individuals are ‘from’ Davy? You do realize that there are around 5 million people in BC, do you not?

That would be a bigger number than you could possibly count to in 5 normal lifetimes.

  12. Davy on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 9:02 pm

“Davy, a trip that burned about 12 gallons of jet fuel to get me there and back is hardly “High carbon”

Makati is the perfect example of a hypocrite. He trashes the west and consumerism then he takes a high carbon trip to Hong Kong to shop with his male partner. He then wants us to believe he only used 12 gallons of fuel.LOL.

  13. makati1 on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 9:23 pm

Ignorance is spelled D…A…V…Y. I posted the ref site for the figures I used with the comment. You are too ignorant to have checked or you would have seen that I actually used even less than 12 gallons. You really should see a shrink. If you can find a sane one in America. If you would like to have someone read this to you…

    http://science.howstuffworks.com/transport/flight/modern/question192.htm

… you may understand that air travel, per person, per mile, uses less fuel than most other means of travel. HeeHaw!

BTW: Did I say I went with anyone? Actually, I went alone. I have done that before. You are trying to put words in my mouth again!

  14. makati1 on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 9:26 pm

JIK that article is too long for you Davy….

“A 747 is transporting 500 people 1 mile using 5 gallons of fuel. That means the plane is burning 0.01 gallons per person per mile. In other words, the plane is getting 100 miles per gallon per person!”

1200 miles RT to HK is about 12 gallons of fuel. Can you do the math Davy? LMAO

  15. Davy on Fri, 9th Jun 2017 5:49 am

Makati, I think there is more to it than a dubious esoteric calculation of your jet fuel burn on a discretionary trip to Hong Kong to satisfy some consumer whims. This is fine burning carbon to shop because so many people do it and it is perfectly legal in fact promoted as good for the economy. I might add your high carbon shopping trip involved more than the jet fuel. You got to the airport and you got home. You had a very rich carbon burn for discretionary satisfactions.

The problem is the whining and wailing of your fake green talk. Real greens don’t fly period. The problem I have with it and you makati is how it dove tails with your comments. You complain about western consumption and carbon emissions as if you and Asia are not part of it. That’s what I am talking about makati. Fake green and anti-western hypocrisy and what makati says about it.

Check this out makati the consumer:
    http://www.yousustain.com/footprint/howmuchco2?co2=220+tons
Answer: 220 tons of CO2 would be emitted by any of the following activities…
An average car could be driven for 356 days non-stop
A 13-watt CF lightbulb could be lit for 1,932 years continuously
    A 747 could fly for 6.94 hours non-stop
A 42 inch LCD TV could be used for 150 years continuously
The energy use of an average house could be met for 16.92 years
Taking 43.14 cars off the road for a year
    Producing 16.54 tons of Beef

  16. JuanP on Fri, 9th Jun 2017 7:03 am

I, of course, disagree with Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris Accord, even if I consider it completely meaningless and too little too late. I understand that optimistic people who assigned a higher value than I did to the accord and thought it would make a difference may be angry and/or disappointed. I think people like that can look forward to a lifetime of disillusionment and disappointment as things keep getting worse all the time and more and more people begin to understand that scientific discoveries and technological advances are not going to be enough to stop this train wreck. One of the great things about being a cynical realist is that I no longer get disillusioned. It is too late and positive feedbacks are feeding on each other exponentially. Even if we dissapeared today this process would continue.

  17. makati1 on Fri, 9th Jun 2017 7:10 am

Davy, what bullshit! When you stop buying fuel for your trips, THEN you can call down others. Hypocrite! You are the one who talked about trips to the Bahamas on holidays. And, I am sure that is the least of your fuel waste. When you get your ANNUAL fuel use down to less than 20 gallons, I might pay attention to your braying. Until then, keep displaying your ignorance. And I will keep pointing it out.
