Production Recovery in Gulf of Mexico Makes Biggest Gain in Weeks

Efforts to restore oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico made significant progress over the weekend, with oil production seeing its biggest jump since the beginning of November, according to the Minerals Management Service. About 42 percent of Gulf oil production, or about 633,000 barrels of the 1.5 million barrels per day normally produced in the Gulf.
