#DisruptJ20: Call for a bold mobilization against the inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20, 2017
On Friday, January 20, 2017, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as President of the United States. We call on all people of good conscience to join in disrupting the ceremonies. If Trump is to be inaugurated at all, let it happen behind closed doors, showing the true face of the security state Trump will preside over. It must be made clear to the whole world that the vast majority of people in the United States do not support his presidency or consent to his rule.
Trump stands for tyranny, greed, and misogyny. He is the champion of neo-nazis and white Nationalists, of the police who kill the Black, Brown and poor on a daily basis, of racist border agents and sadistic prison guards, of the FBI and NSA who tap your phone and read your email. He is the harbinger of even more climate catastrophe, deportation, discrimination, and endless war. He continues to deny the existence of climate change, in spite of all the evidence, putting the future of the whole human race at stake. The KKK, Vladimir Putin, Golden Dawn, and the Islamic State all cheered his victory. If we let his inauguration go unchallenged, we are opening the door to the future they envision.
Trump’s success confirms the bankruptcy of representative democracy. Rather than using the democratic process as an alibi for inaction, we must show that no election could legitimize his agenda. Neither the Democrats nor any other political party or politician will save us—they just offer a weaker version of the same thing. If there is going to be positive change in this society, we have to make it ourselves, together, through direct action.
From day one, the Trump presidency will be a disaster. #DisruptJ20 will be the start of the resistance. We must take to the streets and protest, blockade, disrupt, intervene, sit in, walk out, rise up, and make more noise and good trouble than the establishment can bear. The parade must be stopped. We must delegitimize Trump and all he represents. It’s time to defend ourselves, our loved ones, and the world that sustains us as if our lives depend on it—because they do.

My suggestion for a more appropriate and peaceful demonstration of nonacceptance of a Trump presidency is to fly a U.S. flag upside down in your own yards and neighborhoods on inauguration day. This is a universal sign of distress which is what our country has now entered. Unpeaceful demonstrations will only give the Trumpers an opportunity to advance the march to fascism.

One has to wonder how many of those protestors didn’t bother to vote. The preliminary numbers seem to indicate that Trump wasn’t so much elected by his supporters as Clinton lost by many of her supporters not voting. In fact Trump won with fewer votes then either Romney or McCain got when they lost. And I suspect a reason for such low D turn out was the MSM constantly broadcasting that Trump was an ass who had no chance of winning.

No, the vast majority did not elect Trump, just the simple majority in each state that made an effort. This is how our democracy works. If you don’t like it, wait 4 years and try again. If anything survives the next 4 years.

OMG, guys/gals, have a read of the man. Trump is a billionaire (self reporting) so basically he has little need to become corrupt. Hes dangerous because hes hard to buy. Hes also dangerous to the people who voted for him because nothing really binds him to them. Since he is so smart he will recognise that to get another 8 years he has to do a few things to keep left and right happy. He could build either a real wall or a legal wall, he could order the illegals out, he can guy Obamacare, he can get out of the way of all nations looking to crush radical sunni islamofacism.
His biggest foreign policy challange will be legacy from Obama, namely Turkey/Egypt/Libya. Leaving Russia to deal with ISIS.
He could build a big wall on the Greek-Turkey border and save billions on NATO, then use that money to pay veterans and stop giving money and safety to countries that hate Americans.

Trump didn’t win it was Clinton and the establishment that lost. A strong and normal democratic candidate could have easily swept Trump. The numbers are always against the republicans and especially against someone like Trump that few like. Angry white men liked Trump. The rest who voted for him was because they disliked Clinton more. You then have those on the left who were not motivated to vote because Clinton was so bad and uninspiring.
I voted for Trump because Clinton family is criminal. The Clinton administration was hell bent on war with Russia if Russia did not back down. I became so disgusted with the media and the elites of the business world for their corruption and manipulation in support of Clinton. The money politics that Clinton mastered by deceit was against basic values of right and wrong. I am sick of the fake political correctness of the snowflake crowd who wants their cake and eat it. They want coexistence on their terms. They want to preach human rights but live a life that walks all over human rights because of the inequality of the rich and poor. They talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.
This election is a view of what is to come because we are not facing reality. Reality is increasingly problematic. Reality is now a catch 22 of bad choices some bad some worse. People’s expectations are not in line with reality on both sides so they are clashing both with reality and with each other. A country like ours will be increasingly ungovernable. We will blame each other when we need to blame ourselves. These class, race, and gender conflicts will only make our conflict with reality worse. Sorry reality always wins. You can avoid reality for a time but usually with bad outcomes.
Trump will fail and Hillary would have failed. Failure is the new reality. If there is anything good out of what Trump did it was a judgment call against corruption and manipulation by the current establishment and the elites. If you are a Trump supporter than you are smoking hopium if you think a new batch is not in the offing. Trump and his crowd will be the new elites who embrace corruption.
Let us hope that the extreme corruption we saw in the Clintons is over. The problem with modern life is corruption is needed to maintain affluence in a world in decline. Corruption is needed to maintain the lie of modern life. Corruption is needed to get things done in a corrupt system. It is because of these realities that corruption cannot go away. Corruption is the new reality get used to it.

He was elected by the constitutional process, like it or not. A slim majority did vote for Clinton, but that doesn’t matter, nor has it ever, re the constitutional process.
Why don’t such liars/complainers do something productive, instead?

Whether or not he was elected constitutionally has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not “the vast majority of people in the United States …. support his presidency or consent to his rule.” Therefore, your comment is a “blatant lie”. Beyond the popular vote (that Trump hasn’t won) we don’t know what percentage of Americans support his presidency or consent to his rule. Did you go door-to-door and get a count?

Hey, GH, islamofacism is real, it literally puts islam and its superiority at the heart of the state, and then seeks to spread itself (lebensraum ) over the face of the earth. Some of us would rather nuke the earth than let that happen. The earth is seeing an extra billion humans per generation, growth of a type the world has never seen, and we dont know its limits, but certainly there are some. Right now the dynamic of peak easy oil and cheap money lets tight oil reign, but one of these elements is waning, probobly it will be rate hikes, so tight oil will suffer. Opec is playing the long game. All this means nothing because the world is heating up the great flood is coming. Trump represents a dying world, a people who dont want to understand the truth, that anything they do is futile, unless they willingly turn off the lights ride horses and dont fly, not gonna happen.
The jihadis hate America because America has one thing they will never have because they claim they dont need it, a voice. I happen to know quiet a few, they are good people, work hard, and tell me constantly about how inevitable it is that islam will take over. Most of you guys still think this is about lies and US wars. America has done so much harm the Arabs arent shocked anymore by US drone strikes destroying little kids, no sirs, its way beyond that. When UBL issued a fatwa against America this was a message that normal rules dont apply, now Zawahiri carries the torch and his Muslim Brotherhood friends together with the Saudis plan to use all tools to hand to weaken the West, infiltrate it then overturn it because the fools think the world has a future, they believe that one day people will go back to fighting with swords on horses and Jesus will be a killer too, because mohammad said so. They are the ultimate doomers, except they cant see, with their greed blinding them the planet will be uninhabitable for humans and the prophetic word of islam will prove false as it already has (the sun does not orbit the earth).
I feel bad for America, the people blame their government for the wrong reason, this situation would exist no matter what country was most powerful, the problems are to do with humans nature, at least with America there is a voice, and a choice, even if they are only bad ones.
