Militants storm oil city Kirkuk amid Mosul advance
Suspected Islamic State fighters stormed an Iranian-run power plant and police stations in the Iraqi oil city of Kirkuk on Friday in an apparent counter-attack as Iraqi forces advanced on militant-held Mosul about 100 miles to the northwest.
Iraqi media said at least 11 workers were killed in the pre-dawn assault by suicide bombers armed with rifles and that a curfew was imposed on the city claimed by both Iraq’s government and the country’s autonomous Kurdish region.
Some of the militants may still be at large. Television footage aired by Kurdish broadcasters Rudaw and Kurdistan24 showed gun battles and black smoke rising over parts of Kirkuk. Claims by the Islamic State’s Aamaq news agency that its fighters were behind the attack could not immediately be verified.
The raid came as Iraqi forces in coalition with Kurdish peshmerga soldiers, American advisers and various ethnic minority paramilitary units waged a large-scale offensive to recapture Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city. It began Monday.
As of late Thursday, Iraq’s military said its push to drive the Islamic State out of Mosul had reached as far as the town of Bartella, about 9 miles from its outskirts.
Iraq’s prime minister struck an upbeat tone this week, saying the operation to retake Mosul from Islamic State fighters was moving ahead faster than anticipated.

This is a non-event per the military landscape that represent little more than a militant suicide mission very much similar to what we see of the Taliban in Afghanistan. This is a political statement more than a military move.

ISIS will withdrawal to Syria. While it won’t be difficult to destroy them as they leave Mosul cross from Iraq to Syria they will nonetheless not be destroyed. Stronger ISIS activities in Syria suit the agenda of US and allies.
USA is upset because Russia is better at Syria than they are so this ISIS withdrawal to Syria suits USA just fine.

The USlamic state never attacks uS or ISISraeli installations and people. Well ‘they’ will attack their own people on occasion, when the ‘state’ decides people’s attention and or devotion to the War of Terror(tm), is beginning to wane. But never anything or one of any importance is harmed. But an Iranian owned power station? Fair game. Iraqi police? Same idea. In the unlikely event the uS and friends cant help their proxies keep their hold on Mosul, you can bet your last shekel, the uS and friends are working on plan ‘B’. Evacuate the surviving USlamic fighters to Syria (air cover provided by uS air farce-no charge), to try and reinforce their besieged Oil-Qaeda fighters there.
The uS will lose, is losing, but will drag out the conflict for as long as possible, the preferred strategy atm. Its also equally possible, that the queen of chaos will use her WH soap box, should she ‘win’ it to steer the empire into an even more war-like stance than its displaying now(if that’s even possible).
Even this blip by USlamic State Today all but admits, its an IRAQI operation doing the heavy lifting, the uS so-called uS ‘advisors’? Busy advising their proxies how to best escape to Syria to reinforce their failing effort there.

ISIS, or whatever the current Imperial Lackey Army is called these days, is losing, thanks to Russia and US stupidity. It is a race to see what happens before the US collapse’ into its own sewer. That day is fast approaching.

Think of how stupid the AVERAGE American is, and then realize that half of them are stupider than that! THLB, on the rare occasions you say something intelligent you act smart. The rest of the time it is nothing but ineffective attempts to belittle and discredit people for selfish narcissistic reasons. That is not saying anything and really is just noise. You must have a reason to be here other than being a dick. There are good reasons to discuss some of these issues and contribute. It may help you out. God forbid it might help someone else out. Being a dick is nothing special. It would be different if you were really a fascinating and smart person at least in relation to other here. I can put up with dicks who are very smart because they are giving me something in return. I have yet to see anything beyond average from you and that is on those rare occasions you are not being a dick. People like you clearly have personality issues. These personality issues are likely attached to mental issues. Smart people know a dick when they see one. They also know smart from just talk. You have said some smart things on rare occasions, especially on oil issues. Most of the time it is meaningless anti-Americanism and mediocre geopolitical babble mixed in with ad hominem noise.

Isis will withdraw into Syria, kill Baghdadi, they will change name, rejoin al qaeda, then Jabhat Fatheh al Sham will go back to being called Jabhat al Nusrah, they will both then be supplied by Nato via Turkey once more and the PNAC plan to reshape the middle east according to Israels design (Christian free, tribe/sect against each other) will go on.
90% of the ‘normal’ muslim people I know believe this, they know its all a big act by the west. Baghdadi put a spanner in the works, that idiot tried to implement actual true Sharia Law, thats not the plan, its supposed to be hypocracy that rules.
