The Pentagon announced the deployment of three more Army units to Iraq and Afghanistan Wednesday, as part of the upcoming rotation of forces scheduled for late summer and early fall.
Approximately 1,250 soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, stationed at Fort Drum, New York, will deploy to Iraq, where there are approximately 3,500 U.S. troops stationed.
Meanwhile about 300 soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division also stationed at Fort Drum and 1,000 soldiers from 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana, will deploy to Afghanistan.
The Pentagon also confirmed Wednesday that the U.S. conducted the first drone strike from Incirlik Air Base in Turkey against ISIS Tuesday after Turkey allowed the U.S. greater access to the base in July.
Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis declined to give specifics of the target, but confirmed to reporters the strike was against ISIS and in defense of the New Syrian Force – a 55-man force trained and sent into Syria last month by the U.S.
A senior defense official told Fox News that the U.S. is planning to begin manned strike missions against ISIS beginning next week, missions that would include fighter jets and possibly bombers too.
When asked if Turkey gave permission for the U.S. to launch the strikes Capt. Davis said, “it is not a formal permission process.”
The announcements came days after it was revealed that the year-long U.S. led campaign against ISIS has failed to reduce the size of the terror group, raising concerns that the war is a “stalemate.”

Leave these small time skirmishes to the rest of the world. Time for China, Japan, India, S Korea, Europe to pay for the policing of the Middle East. All costs should be split bythe amount they import from the region.

What would the US do if they didn’t have a place to sell their weapons? I know! They could fix their roads and bridges and bring the railroads out of the 19th century.

Which ones are ISIS this week?

It’s an odd feeling, but I totally agree with Mak today. We have all the money in the world to occupy/invade other countries and meddle in their civil wars, but when our infrastructure at home is crumbling and 30 million people (still) don’t have health insurance, boy, we’re just out of gas.

Since Obama claims there are no US “boots on the ground” in the war in Iraq, everyone should ignore this story about new US combat troops being deployed to Iraq.

“We have all the money in the world to occupy/invade other countries and meddle in their civil wars”
Civil wars that were caused by the US oligarchs. And they are not “we”. They could give a rats ass about us, or you. This is all about their game for global control, and their plans don’t include you. There is no “we” about this. We are being used to further their agenda, and most people don’t have the slightest clue. Especially people in the USA.

Talking down oil prices can only take us so far.
There’s not one or two Mideast/African oil wars, there’s Libya, Syria, Nigeria, Chad, Egypt, Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq, Sudan/South Sudan,
Yemen, Afghanistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia,
Kuwait, of course, Israel, Iran, U.S, Russia and
Islamic State.

Maybe if America really puts its back into it you can maintain the stalemate.

Bob,
Or there are no wars only minor conflicts. Kinda like the Indians. Only if your off the reservation did the Cavalry hunt you down. You definitely don’t want to make the drone list.

Boat, “minor conflicts” don’t cost $1,000,000,000,000+ per year.
Had the dictators in the ME been allowed to stay in place, things would not be a mess there. If Iran’s oil and gas didn’t have American oligarchs drooling, there would not be a problem there. Ditto for Russia and Venezuela. North Korea has nukes but is mostly ignored because they have nothing the oligarchs want. If Israel was cut off from the US tit and stripped of it’s illegal nukes, it too would regress into a peaceful country or disappear altogether. Not a bad thing.
War and hyped ‘terrorism’ is all that is keeping the Us together. As things slide down the chute, I expect its wars to escalate into the big one.
Duck & Cover!

Mak bang on today, (no pun intended).

Paulo1, occasionally I get my thoughts over to a few who agree. And I emphasize that they are MY thoughts on the world today, not necessarily yours or another’s.
I was able to tear off the blinders and the rose colored glasses when I got my first PC, 12 years ago, at age 58. It opened the world to me in so many ways. So many sources of info to sort thru and digest. And the realization of how thorough the US indoctrination was in my life. It took a few years before I could put aside the constant brainwashing and give up TV, magazines and newspapers. But, now I am free.
I live in a part of the world I only read about and am enjoying every minute as I prepare to make the future at least bearable, if not enjoyable. I hope you can do the same.

$1,000,000,000,000+ would go a long ways to solve the myriad of problems brewing at home. Which should beg the question; Who is your government actually working for?
